A Home For Sally

The Mommies Reviews

My family loves anything to do with Dogs. As soon as I saw A Home For Sally I couldn’t wait to share the novel with Charlie and David. Before I did though I wanted to read A Home For Sally to make sure nothing bad happened to the puppy as it would upset Charlie.

A Home for Sally by [Stenetta Anthony]

Instead something good happened in A Home For Sally. Charlie learned what a Disability is. As well as why someone might be unadoptable and how adoption works.

Charlie and I were able to use A Home For Sally in our classroom. We learned words Charlie didn’t know for Vocabulary. We were able to put together a Spelling List.

We looked up dogs like Sally and took a Field Trip to our Local Dog Shelter and we went to check out Kennels in our area for Charlie to learn about them.

If my family ever finds a dog like Sally or a dog with any kind of Disability Charlie, David and I plan on adopting it to make sure it had a forever home because no, dog deserves to not be adopted because of a disability.

Sally has a longing to be adopted that began when she was placed in a kennel permanently. A Home for Sally shares the story of a young poodle who considers she is unlovable and unadoptable because of her disability. Sally believed that her dream of once again having a family may never come true.
