I thought I would share a new Drama/ Suspense Novel with you called A Disappearing World! by Julia Kitlinski-Hong (Author). A Disappearing World! is a sad book about the relationship of a mom and daughter. It does get hard to read at times as we see what a mom would do to her child. Suspense and drama and so much more is what happens in this story. For some people the story might trigger things from there childhood they wouldn’t want to re-live and this is why I’ve chosen not to share the book with my best friend Debbie.
A Disappearing World! about a girl who is going through family trauma and it tells the girls story of her mother who has always been against her and turning her insane seems what the mother wants to do. The girl gets into a school but she quickly learns it is not all it seems. Then the girl is given an almost impossible way to graduate and she may pretend to do it if only to finally escape.

Violet’s mother has always tried to turn her own mind against her. Now she has found the ultimate weapon: a school willing to enforce her lies.
Violet Chen has never trusted her mother, who has always been overeager to find something wrong with Violet’s mind and exploit it. Thus, when she is sent off to Sunrise, a therapeutic boarding school, she has no reason to trust the therapists there, either.
Upon arrival, her suspicions are confirmed: Sunrise is not a sanctuary but a psychological prison. She is held hostage by strict rules, drugged into a stupor, and relentlessly monitored. Worse yet, she is assigned to Frances, a callous therapist whose ulterior agenda quickly comes to light: to manipulate Violet into believing she is to blame for her dysfunctional family.
Finally, Frances gives Violet an appalling ultimatum: to graduate, she must show her abusive mother empathy. Violet is livid, but the choice is obvious: if this is the game Frances wants to play, she must feign compliance in order to escape. With her mind unraveling amid emotional turmoil, Violet vows never to let Frances win—even if it costs her sanity.

Meet the Author: Julia Kitlinski-Hong
Julia Kitlinski-Hong is a widely published freelance writer who specializes in travel, culture, and mental health. Born and raised in San Francisco, she also considers Turkey her home. As her debut novel, A Disappearing World, sheds light on her and others’ personal experiences at a therapeutic boarding school, testifying to these largely unregulated institutions’ mistreatment through a fictionalized account.
When not writing or reading, Julia can often be found raising a guide dog puppy, traveling, and spending time outdoors. She currently resides in Southern California with her husband.
