Dallas-Fort Worth Scavenger

Adult Book Recomendations Children's Book Reviews Homeschool Field Trips in or around DFW

I’ve been failing on my walking and exploring our Town but to get us back on track in the New Year I can’t wait to purchase Dallas-Fort Worth Scavenger. Which Charlie and I can use in our Homeschool and go on Field Trips with our friends and family. Would you like to join us on our Field Trip next year?

Dallas-Fort Worth Scavenger

Looking for a new way to explore the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex? Put on your walking shoes and channel your inner Sherlock to solve riddles that will take you on a unique Scavenger Hunt through 26 neighborhoods in 12 Cities. Each rhyming clue includes a photo to help you discover intriguing places, many of which are hidden in plain sight. Decoding these hints leads you to everything from hidden time capsules and forgotten fallout shelters, to a barber shop that’s operated from the same little storefront since 1892. There’s even a modern-day speakeasy. And if you think Venus was birthed on a half-shell, here in North Texas she stands on top of a Saguaro Cactus.

Use this book for inspiration when guests visit, to take your family and friends on an adventure, or simply solve clues on your own. Plan a day for each section, then linger to enjoy the shops, restaurants, and Parks in each featured area. Along the way you’re bound to discover new-to-you places and overlooked history while gaining a deeper appreciation for the many delights to be found in the Metroplex.

Author and local explorer Tui Snider brings her expert eye for quirky details and forgotten history to his one-of-a-kind experience. Once you’ve embarked on this Dallas-Fort Worth Scavenger Hunt, you’ll never see North Texas the same way again.

About Tui Snider

Tui Snider is an inquisitive world traveler who believes that “even home is a travel destination.” Whether researching forgotten history, unusual destinations, or historic Cemetery symbolism, Tui writes books with an eye for quirky details and a touch of humor. Her work has been featured by Coast to Coast AM, LifeHack, WFAA TV, The National Museum of Funeral History and Cult of Weird, among many other outlets.

Tui lives in a goth/tiki castle with her mad Scientist husband and a stray Tabby who adopted her while traveling. When not on the road, she composes music, sings karaoke, watches Birds, and practices poi ball routines in her backyard.

As to what her next book will be, even Tui is not certain. “I’ve always got three or four book-length projects going,” she admits. “It really just depends which one makes it to the finish line first!”
