Eala: The Mother Swan / La Madre Cisne

The Mommies Reviews

Welcome to our Christmas Gift Guide 2022: Eala: The Mother Swan / La Madre Cisne written by La Madre Cisne which I received a copy of in exchange for a spot in this year’s Gift Guide and this review.

Charlie has been wanting to learn a Foreign Language which I’ve been meaning to add to our Homeschool Lessons and receiving a copy of Eala: The Mother Swan / La Madre Cisne has helped me pick out which Language to start with which will be Spanish.

I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to hear Charlie learn Spanish which I did take in Middle School and flunked although I can count to 10 in Spanish. Can you? With David wanting to learn to read and Charlie teaching him were going to stick to English for David as well as my niece Lily and Jason when we read the story to them.

In our classroom Charlie and I are going to also study Trumpet Swans in our Lessons on Animals which we learned about in this book. Would you like to study them with us or check out Trumpeter Swan Society, which supports conservation of Trumpeter Swans and see how we can help save Swans.

I love how the book touches on bullying and how a young boy overcomes it just as Charlie has done in the past. I just wish we had the opportunity to meet a Black Swan but we don’t although we have our family and this beautiful book which gives us all hope.

Bilingual Picture Book Teaches Young Readers There Is Magic in Everyone

Charlottesville, VA, November 14, 2022 — In Ayn Cates Sullivan’s uplifting, bilingual story for young audiences, Eala: The Mother Swan / La Madre Cisne, readers meet Hugo, a young boy who has been bullied and is starting to forget who he is. The world feels difficult, and he is sad. But his grandmother tells him about a magical Swan, and Hugo thinks if he can reach the Swan, he can recapture his spirit and spark.

Eala is a story about a boy who is just beginning to lose his connection to his inner world, so he goes in search of a magical Swan,” said Sullivan.

Hugo finds the Swan, Eala, just before she is going to fly between worlds, so he hops onto her back, and she takes him on a magical journey. Soon Hugo rediscovers the music and wonder of the world, and he begins to feel whole again.

Suitable for children ages 5-9, Eala: The Mother Swan / La Madre Cisne is an engaging and inspiring story for all audiences, who will experience the magic of Eala in both English and Spanish.

“It’s a book for all readers who wish to live soulful lives,” added Sullivan.
