Love is Kind Day exists to root out and fight all forms of domestic violence. Love is kind day seeks to assist the victims. It does so partially through love and kindness. The power of love is limitless. Love and kindness are many things. Love and kindness are never violent or abusive. The creators of this holiday use their “Love is Kind” network to help to spread love and kindness to help put an end to domestic violence and abuse. The creators of this holiday also encourage you to get pro-active in this fight.
How to Celebrate National Love is Kind Day
On National Love is Kind Day, were encouraged to get involved. Play an active role in identifying and rooting out cases of domestic abuse and violence.
Ways you can participate:
- If you are being abused, seek help and take steps to get out of a bad situation.
- If you know of someone who is being abused or even suspect they are being abused, take pro-active steps and help them out.
- For those of us who have escaped a bad situation, celebrate your freedom.
- Speak out against all forms of abuse.
- Help to raise awareness to the signs of abuse.
When helping someone, use extreme caution when getting involved in these situations. The best way you can help might be to notify authorities and professionals.
History and Origin of National Love is Kind Day
This holiday was created by Rosie Aiello and her daughter Sunny. Both woman have survived and escaped from domestic violence and abuse. The holiday was started in 2018 and they promote their cause through their “Love is Kind” network.
This holiday was not created as a “National” holiday although a couple of websites refer to it this holiday as “National Love is Kind Day”.
Neither the U.S. Congress, nor any President of the United States has proclaimed this holiday to be a “National” holiday.

Today is an easy holiday to celebrate. Simply go for a walk. Unless you are wearing a dress or a skirt, you probably are wearing pants. By definition, as you walk, your pants come along.
Give your pants some exercise after all, your pants may be looking a little tight around the middle. The walk will do the pants and you good.

Considered a hobby or a sport, stilt walking takes skill and practice. While stilt walking is not for everyone, chances are you’ve been on stilts at least once when you were a kid. If that was a long time ago, don’t worry. Stilt walking is like riding a bike. Once you’ve learned stilt walking, you never forget. If you’ve never been on a pair of stilts, you had a sheltered childhood.
Stilts have a long and lofty history. Stilts were first used in the Sixth Century B.C. in ancient Greece. Stilts have been used for a wide variety of reasons. Stilts have been used in the harvest to pick the Fruit off those trees that are to tall to reach.
The drywall and construction industry uses stilts today, to reach high places. Stilts were used in jousting contests, too. You will see stilts often used for entertainment at the Circus, theaters, parades and street events. Circus clowns, and entertainers all use stilts. There are many career professional stilt walkers among us.
Stand out in a crowd by hopping onto a pair of stilts. If you are about to mount stilts for the first time, begin with a pair of stilts that is short or low to the ground. Once you’ve mastered your first pair of stilts, you can easily graduate to taller and taller ones.
Before you say I don’t have stilts or I don’t know where to get a pair of stilts. Which you might not find stilts at a toy or hobby store although stilts are easy to acquire online.
For the Record According to Guinness World Book of Records, the world’s tallest stilt was 53′ 10″ (16.41 m). The record was set on November 15, 2006 by Saimaiti Yiming of Xinjiang, China. Yiming who took ten steps on the stilts without a safety net. In case you didn’t know, a stilt is measured from the ground to the ankle.
The History and Origin of Walk on Stilts Day: This holiday was created by Bill “Stretch” Coleman of Denver, CO. Stretch is a professional stilt walker. Stretch said he could not remember when he created Walk on Stilts Day but it was about 20 years ago. So, we’ll estimate walk on stiles day’s creation was in 2000.
As for why Stretch Coleman created walk on stilts day, here is what Stretch Coleman said: ” I founded the holiday to encourage more folks to take up stilt walking not only for a sport, or hobby but a career. With increased height, one’s perspective changes in many ways. Suddenly, things that were over the horizon are visible. You are more aware of balance and surroundings. Your thinking changes for the good. ”
