Child Models Whose Careers Lasted into Adulthood

Did you know that many famous actors and actresses actually started as child models? The clothing at My Little Wardrobe will bring out the star in your little bundle of joy, but here are some names that started their modeling careers earlier than many will remember. Let’s see if you’re surprised by any of the names on this list.

Robert Pattinson

That’s right – you probably know him from the Twilight Saga and Harry Potter, but Robert Pattinson grew up as an impressive child model. From the age of 12, Pattinson said that his androgynous look helped him to get modeling work (something he has also enjoyed in recent years with brands such as Dior!).

Raven Symone

If you’re a nineties child, you probably watched That’s So Raven at some point in your childhood. However, this wasn’t the start of Raven Symone’s career because she was in commercials for Fisher-Price, Ritz Crackers, and more. Just recently, the Disney Channel announced a reboot of That’s So Raven called Raven’s Home, and it had people in their late twenties tuning in for the first time in many years.

Gigi Hadid

While Symone and Pattinson both went into acting, Gigi Hadid started modeling at two years of age and hasn’t stopped since. In her early toddler years, Hadid appeared in a campaign for Baby Guess. These days, she is ever-present and making headlines by working with Versace, Balmain, Victoria’s Secret, and many other internationally-known brands.

Brooke Shields

If you thought that Gigi Hadid was young when starting her modeling career, Brooke Shields wasn’t even one when she appeared in a campaign for Ivy Soap. At 14 years, she became the youngest ever Vogue cover model. Ever since her foray into modeling at eleven months, Shields has appeared in many campaigns while also lending her talents to the movie world. By her late teens, Shields was somewhat of a veteran in the industry.

Cara Delevingne

While most kids were thinking about making the jump to a big school, Cara Delevingne appeared in a Vogue Italia campaign at the age of ten. Still, in her teens, Delevingne was scouted by the same person who originally discovered Kate Moss. As a result, she went on to lead many famous campaigns for brands like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Burberry. While still doing some modeling, Delevingne has also gone on to become an established actress.

Kaia Gerber

As the daughter of Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber probably had more opportunities than other child models. However, you still need to act on these opportunities and have the talent to survive in any industry. Over the years, Gerber has shown this. Starting with the junior line for Versace, Gerber has gone on to appear at the New York Fashion Week while walking for Calvin Klein, Versace, and more. In her early twenties, Gerber still has a long career ahead. Will she choose to become a supermodel legend like her mother, or will she step into acting? Only time will tell.

Ashley Benson

If you’ve ever watched Pretty Little Liars, you will have seen Benson portraying Hanna Marin. However, she didn’t start her career as an actress (this probably isn’t surprising given the theme of this blog post!). Instead, she was just five when appearing in dance catalogs as a model. By the time she turned eight, she was being approached by the famous Ford Modelling Agency. Now, her resume includes magazine covers for Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, and more.
