Kickapoo Cavern State Par  is currently in an undeveloped State. At this time the Park is currently open by guided tour only. Access to the Park is available through guided Bird walks, wild cave tours, and evening Bat Flights on specified tour dates throughout Spring and sSficant. 

Kickapoo Cavern is approximately one-quarter mile in length. The Park boasts impressive formations and can be toured by special arrangement. Stuart Bat Cave (formally Green Cave), is slightly shorter than Kickapoo at 1068′, serves as a Migratory stopover for large numbers of Brazilian Freetail Bats from mid-March to about the end of October.

Bat flights are often spectacular, and observations are available on the same basis as Kickapoo Cavern tours. Birding opportunities abound in this area. Park facilities include 14 miles of Mountain biking trails, and 18 miles of undesignated hiking & Birding trails.

Trails

Bring plenty of water and your hiking shoes adn hike or bike miles of trails, were you can catch glimpses of Wildlife along the way. Check out he interactive trails map or download a trails map | PDF. when planning your trip.

Don’t miss the Armadillo Lookout Trail, which leads to a panoramic view of the Southwestern area of the park.

Camping

Stay overnight at one of our camp­sites which offers five full hookup camp­sites, 10 campsites with water only, and a 30-person group camp. This park cannot fit RVs over 36′.

Caves

The Park has 20 known Caves; the two largest are Kickapoo Cavern and Stuart Bat Cave. Unauthorized entry into the caves is not allowed, to protect the caves and the creatures that live in these caves.

There is guided cave tours every Saturday at 1 p.m reservations are required; and no more than 10 people per tour

Kickapoo Cavern is about 1,400 feet long, the result of 4 million years of geologic change. 

Stuart Bat Cave is slightly shorter than Kickapoo and is the Seasonal home to thousands of Mexican free-tailed Bats. Bats live in the cave from mid-March to the end of October. The Bats leave the cave each evening at dusk to hunt for their prey Insects.

If you visit Stuart Bat Cave to watch Bat flights, please read and follow the rules posted for your families safety.

Birding

About 240 Migrant and resident Bird species have been sighted in the park. Bring a pair of binoculars or borrow a pair at head­quarters and visit the Bird blind to see who is stopping by for a drink.

Open: 8 a.m. Friday to 4:30 p.m. on Monday 
Closed: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
