Welcome to our series sharing Unique Holidays: April 3rd, 2022. I would like to ask you to check out the Holidays being celebrated today and let me know which Holiday you most want to celebrate and why. As for me I think I will celebrate Don’t go to work unless it’s fun day. I asked my boss who is myself and I said I could take the day off. Would you like to join me?
Don’t Go to Work Unless it’s Fun Day – I am sure I know your decision
Don’t Go to Work Unless it’s Fun Day might be a day for you to sleep in. If this Holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday when you may normally off of work, it’s an easy Holiday to participate in. Otherwise, make sure you get your boss’ approval prior to participating.
Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up in the morning and decide whether you will go to work? If it is going to be fun at work, you get up and go. Otherwise, you turn over and go back to sleep.
To increase attendance today, we suggest you consider things that will make today a fun day to go to work. Like the promise of a paycheck.
We strongly suggest that anyone thinking of not going into work, clear it with their boss first!
The month of April brings Spring showers and after those showers, the Sun comes out and a Rainbow may appear. This makes today, the perfect time to celebrate Find a Rainbow Day! We don’t always hope for rain in an already rainy month. But, in order to truly enjoy this Holiday, you need rain in order to see a rainbow. If you are really lucky, you may see a rare double rainbow. Make sure you have your camera so you can capture the moment.
Let’s all dial back to our high school Science class for a moment, to remember exactly how a rainbow is formed. A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon. A rainbow is bent, refracted white light, forming all the colors of the light spectrum. In high school, our Science teacher used a prism, to demonstrate this dispersion of light into its primary colors. When you see a rainbow, it’s the same principle as the prism. Water particles in the air act as a prism to bend light, forming the rainbow.
If you know Roy G. Biv, advance to the head of the class! Roy G. Biv was the name Science teachers used, to help us to memorize the major colors of the white light spectrum, in the order with which they appear in a rainbow. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.
A rainbow is actually a circle. But rainbows are low in the sky, with the bottom half lost in the earth.
Me lads and me laddies, according to Irish tradition, there is an elusive pot of gold awaiting you which was put there by Elves.
Somewhere Over the Rainbow, sung by Judy Garland should be the song of the day.
History and Origin of “Find a Rainbow Day”:
Find a Rainbow Day was first celebrated around 2013 but we found no references to this holiday event prior to 2013. We have yet to discover the creator or why this Holiday was created.
Beginning in 2018, this holiday was sometimes called “National Find a Rainbow Day”. However, we found no reference of a presidential proclamation or act of congress declaring this a true “National” day.
Tweed Day celebrates one of two things. The warm, fashionable woolen clothing that originated in Scotland, which is always in fashion, Tweed keeps you warm and looks good. It should come as no surprise to learn Tweed is more popular in the North, and not often worn in the South.
Or Twwed Day celebrates the birthday of a corrupt, New York City politician.
William Magear “Boss” Tweed, who was born on April 3, 1823. Boss Tweed was a politician from NYC. Boss Tweed was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and a NY State Senator. Boss Tweeds claim to fame was being convicted of graft and corruption, for stealing millions of dollars from NYC. Our problem with this theory is why a special day for a convicted crook!?
We ‘d like to believe that Tweed Day celebrates Tweed suits. Conversely, do we really want to celebrate the birth date of a crook??? I’ll let you make the call.
Originating in Scotland, Tweed is a thick woolen, twill styled material. Tweed jackets, suits and slacks are popular.
Wearing something tweed from your wardrobe is an must today. Better still, buy a new tweed outfit and wear it today.
If you need an excuse to have a party, today offers you the incentive you need. Get out the party hats and open up the Champagne. Today, is World Party Day.
World Party Day was created with the premise that humans have the right to joy and peace through social positivity and fun. A basic concept of this Holiday is that peace is not the opposite of war. Rather, “Party” is the true opposite.
This Holiday is intended to be a synchronized, worldwide day of partying.
You can celebrate this day partying in any way you’d like. We encourage you to make it a day long party. But a shorter party is fine, too.
History and Origin of “World Party Day”:
The origin of World Party Day dates back to 1996.
The concept of this day, originated in the novel Flight, a Quantum Fiction Novel, written by American writer Vanna Bonta in 1995. At the end of the novel, there is a worldwide allegiance and celebration. The date? April 3rd, of course!
