Moonlight Prance

The Mommies Reviews

This is a review for the book Moonlight Prance written by Teagan White’s which I received a copy of in exchange for this review.

Charlie and I love any book about Animas and no, matter what age the book may target Charlie and I will sit down and read the story not only to ourselves but to each other. This morning before we begin school, I handed Charlie Moonlight Prance.

Charlie observed the cover and let me know he loved the color blue they used with the animals. Especially the Frog. Then Charlie turned the book over to look at the back cover. Charlie liked learning there is tabs to pull which leads you into a new world with the story.

As we began to read the book, we discussed what Nocturnal Animals are and if they really come out at night. Allowing us to expand on our Homeschool Lesson Plan Containing Animals not only for Reading but also our Art Class. Leading us to new Field Trips we would like to take at night including our local Zoo if it ever opens at night.

Charlie and I enjoyed the storyline a lot and found new Spelling/ Vocabulary words with words like Boggie-Woggie which we can also study in Music and look up when this word came into History and why. As we finished the book Charlie let me know Moonlight Prance is perfect for both children and adults especially beginner readers or toddlers who like staying busy and can work the tabs as their parents reads this story to them.

Meet the Author

Teagan White explores the wonders of the natural world and the friendly creatures who live in it through picture books, stationery, puzzles, fabric, and beyond. Teagan lives in Oregon with their partner and stepdaughter, where they like to ride bikes, adventure in the woods, spy on Raccoons in their backyard, and visit Seagulls at the beach.

Serena Allen was up late one night with her infant son and wondered, who else is awake right now? I can’t be the only one who’s not sleeping. And once her son was back in her crib, she wrote the first lines of this book. Growing up outside of Yosemite, Serena had many close encounters with Wildlife. She now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, but she still spends a lot of time hiking and climbing in the great outdoors with her husband and their two children.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
