I remember as a child my brother was taking Home Economics and he decided to make a Cherry Pit including Homemade Pie Crust and my parents saying that was the best Cherry Pie they ever had

In the next couple weeks, we will be visiting my brother and in Charlie’s Homeschool Cooking Class I am going to teach him how to make Pie Crust and both a Cherry and Apple Pie to take to my brother as a surprise. Would you like to have a slice of Pie with us before we leave? If so, would you make Homemade Whipped Cream for our Pies for us?

National Cherrie Pie Day comes on the 20th of February to observe all Pie enthusiasts who actively eat Pie for breakfast, lunch, or supper.

Pie is a very popular delicacy, and many people prefer having a slice of Pie as part of their daily meal. National Cherry Pie Day is almost at the same time as when we celebrate President’s Day of the renowned President George Washington and his characteristic Cherry Tree because Cherries were the President’s favorite foods.

Colonists of the old times were enthusiastic about cooking their Pies in such a way that they would appear long and narrow, which is why they branded them coffyns, similar to the English Crust.  In the same way, during the Roman era, the old age American Pie Crusts were simply designed for all purposes but not eating. Some of these reasons include providing a base for filling when baking was done. However, when the American Revolution happened, the word coffin was replaced by Crust. It is therefore clear to explain why in present-day America; Cherry Pie has attracted the name “the great American dish” and Cherry Pie has since grown to become a very popular recipe.

Cherry Pie has very many benefits, including its characteristic natural and healthy sweetness that makes Cherry Pie a popular delicacy. Cherry Pie also celebrates significant anti-inflammatory qualities and stands as a perfect enabler for sleep and rests enabler. In eating a Slice of Cherry Pie, you are also exposed to the best of minimal chances of Gout attacks and a remarkable conversion of Cancer-fighting agents. There is also the boosted intake of Fiber that is associated with consuming Cherry Pie.  These, among other reasons, have made Cherry Pie an important delicacy that is very much worth celebrating.

National Muffin Day

I have a question for you this morning. Can you think of something more universally loved than Muffins? Muffins, deserves a Holiday of its own. For that, we have February 20th, which is National Muffin Day! Did you know English Muffins have been whipped up in kitchens as far back as a thousand years ago in Wales, and American style Muffins have been around since the 18th Century. Muffins are a great breakfast for someone on the run. Muffins are a perfect substitute for Toast during brunch. Muffins are an easy treat to make and give as a gift. Don’t let today go by without eating a lot of Muffins.

Five facts to know about Muffins:

  1. American Muffins are referred to as baked Breads in small tins while “English” Muffins are oven-baked, then cooked in a griddle.

2. The word Muffin likely derives its name from an Old German word Muffen, the plural of Muffe meaning a small cake.

2. Have you heard of The Muffin Man? Did you know he was a real guy who delivered Muffins to homes along Drury Lane in England?

3. American Muffins are similar to a cupcake in size. Cupcakes are almost always made from Cake batter.

5. The Corn Muffin is the official state Muffin of Massachusetts.
