I would like to know what you would like to bake to celebrate today with. Charlie says since we weren’t able to make Fudge during the Holidays, which is what Charlie would like to make for his snacks this week. If I had my choice, I think we should make Peanut Butter Cookies. I have a question for you. Do you think we should make Fudge or Peanut Butter Cookies and why?

Though the origins of Spaghetti are disputed—whether it was Marco Polo bringing back the Culinary invention from the East, and Arab trade-route delicacy, or a home-grown Sicilian treat dating back to the 12th Century. We can all agree that a cold night with a big bowl of noodle-y, saucy goodness is soothing to the soul. Join us on January 4th as we celebrate National Spaghetti Day.

NATIONAL SPAGHETTI DAY ACTIVITIES

  1. While prepping your Noodles for dinner, instead of biting into a Noodle to see if it’s done try throwing a few cooled Noodle strands against the wall. If they stick, then the Noodles are done!
  2. Host a spaghetti around the world party. Italian, Chinese, even Indian Cuisine can prepare Spaghetti and make the comfort food classic an international showstopper. Go beyond Sauce and Meatballs to include Nuts, Vegetables and Spices to take a trip without leaving your house.
  3. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make your own Spaghetti? You don’t need a fancy Pasta-maker all you need is a rolling pin and knife Or a Spiralizer to spiralize Carrots and Beets to add color to your Spaghetti bowl.

WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL SPAGHETTI DAY

  1. Cut Spaghetti up, twirl Spaghetti up, pick Spaghetti up with your fingers, use a fork and spoon. There are many ways to get the Spaghetti from the plate into your mouth. Which means Spaghetti can be an easy go-to meal for the busy family.
  2. A rich, thick Tomato Sauce, Seafood Stew, a Garlicky-Cream Sauce, mixed with Butter, Salt or Parmesan Cheese—Spaghetti is the perfect backdrop for all sorts of flavors. Then, there is the Spaghetti itself, handmade or out of the box, made from Durum Wheat or Brown Rice, plain or Spinach it’s time to make Spaghetti for dinner this evening.
  3. Look for Whole Grains and a short ingredient list. Toss with fresh or roasted Vegetables, Herbs and a splash of Olive Oil and you have a tasty meal full of complex Carbs and Vitamins.
