5 Oh-So-Good Spa Chemicals and Why You Need Them
When someone’s stressed or tired, then spa surely is the answer for them to relax and re-energize themselves. The physical activities they do for the spa will give people different physical and psychological benefits such as helping to reduce stress, improve blood circulation, relax and relieve pains, make people get together and be happy, among others.
Now we want to know how and what makes a beneficial and worthwhile spa experience. In this feature, we list some of the best spa chemicals and why we need them.
Chlorine
Chlorine is one of the most important spa chemicals used in many establishments. This chemical, having an active ingredient of 97% sodium dichlor, is proven to be very helpful to clean and sanitize the spa pool, jacuzzi, or tub. It can also work as an effective oxidizer, which does the same effect as a shock but with lesser efficacy. Just add the granule directly to the spa water to clean, make it clear, and keep it free from any odor. This hot tub chemical helps the water be balanced and safe for every use.
Bromine
Bromine can somehow do the same purpose of what chlorine can do. However, this chemical can do the work better in the long term. With the active ingredients of 98% Bromochloro-5 and 5-dimethylhydantoin, this substance gives long-lasting results for keeping the spa water clear and clean. A perfect way to keep the hot tub maintenance easy but will still deliver maximum effectiveness.
Shock
Sometimes, even if we put all the cleaners and sanitizers into the tub, some unwanted contaminants such as oils, cosmetics, ammonia, etc. could still be present. This makes it necessary to put non-chlorine and oxygen-based shock. This chemical, having a stronger formula, will not only break down contaminants in the spa water but also clean the filter and the pipes. A non-chlorine oxidizer is recommended since it is assumed that the tub is already chlorinated before the shock. Another thing that this treatment can do is maintain a balanced pH level. Put on a shock once every week to see the best outcome.
Aromatherapy
Aside from taking the spa experience to the next level for giving the best scents and relaxation, this chemical also works to help your skin stay nourished and hydrated. Having a good scent while having a spa will create a better mood and make our mental state at ease. Thus, it helps to reduce stress and anxiety, with overall mind and body relaxation. You cannot get enough of this amazing substance so you may put it however you want to your liking.
pH Balancers
This essential chemical is something that one should have for their spa. To ensure our best experience, there are chemical levels that need to be balanced and maintained. Adjust the acidity and alkalinity to give the soaker the best experience. Otherwise, if the level is too high or too low, it can irritate the skin. Having the right pH will also prevent the spa equipment from disintegrating. Using a pH meter, check the level of the water if it is normal. If not, increase the pH and vice versa.
