Honestly, if you are looking for a book to start teaching your child about the Human Body function, get Human Body Activity Book for Kids: Hands-On Fun for Grades K-3. I have purchased this book for my child who is constantly talking about wanting to be a doctor. He likes the brightly colored pages and the simple and clear illustrations.

Moreover, the activity ideas are simple enough for the kids to do on their own or with a little help. The art is color throughout, which makes it more enjoyable than black and white. I haven’t seen another book that offers Anatomical information in as much detail for this age range.

This book is perfect for kids tiny attention spans. Each system is covered in a couple of pages and followed by an activity. There are extension activities to try at home as well. I love this book so much that I wish the author had made more topics in the same format. Between a video, the lesson, and the extension, the whole thing takes maybe 30 minutes, but it’s so engaging that my Kid is reciting facts to me for days after the lesson. It’s easily the best workbook I’ve ever picked up for supplemental learning.

The illustration style is age-appropriate: detailed enough to show concepts like cell structure but simplified in an appealing way. The art is color throughout, which makes it more enjoyable than black and white. The activities are fairly simple and help to break up the written content. I haven’t seen another book that offers Anatomical information in as much detail for this age range. I didn’t want to jump into something designed for later elementary or middle school students without a softer introduction as I was concerned it could be too much information to be successfully engaging (and that more realistic and detailed illustrations might be slightly unsettling to an unprepared child regardless of their interest level).
