Please help me welcome a new Author to our Christmas Gift Guide 2021: Children’s Books: Herman and the Princess which is published by Captain Lew Maurer.
Before I even had a chance to open Herman and the Princess- Gull I found myself drawn into the story just from the cover with the water and Herman on it. Charlie wanted to make Herman his friend and asked me if he could bring it home with him. LOL
Charlie went to make breakfast and I opened the book up to look through it. The next thing I knew Charlie came and sat down next to me. As I was looking through the book he asked me to read the story to him. As I did Charlie and I found ourselves discussing the story and Charlie even reading parts of the book.
Brining us closer together. Charlie was amazed at what happened in the story and even asked me if there were other books about Herman and if so he wanted to get them. With Charlie asking for more books I knew he enjoyed the story a lot and that I had found something he would read. Which is a Godsend.
I liked at the end of the book how the Author shared how the book came about. Charlie even found many Animals mentioned throughout the story that he wants to learn more about in our Homeschool Class when we study Animals or the Ocean.

Remember that wonderful, feel-good moment when, for the first time, we see a tender, loving exchange between two Animals? In Herman and the Princess Gull, it is especially heartwarming because the two Animals would normally be life and death enemies.
Herman was inspired by a true event on a lovely beach in Costa Rica. The Author includes the “backstory” at the end, lending a nice, educational touch to the “cast of characters.”
Herman and Antares will melt hearts and become heroes of the Sea for children everywhere. Be prepared-kids ask to hear this story night after night.

I loved reading Herman & the Princess Gull. The story is great and the artwork is over the top great. Only wish I had a child to read it to. My daughter would have asked for it every night when she was a young child. It would have definitely been in that 2 or 3 special books she always wanted me to read to her.
