Single Women and Money

The Mommies Reviews

This is a review for Single Women and Money published by Margaret Price and Jill Gianola

As I get older I know one day David might not be here and I wouldn’t have his paycheck to rely on so even though I am not single I wanted to read so I could prepare for my future. As well as share with my friend Tara Todd who is single and raising 3 Teenagers.

As I begin to read Single Women and Money: How to Live Well on Your Income I even found tips I wanted to share with Charlie so when he is out on his own he can survive without struggling. As I was talking to Charlie David overheard us me so we’ve been reading the book as a family to help us become better at managing our finances.

I like finding a the chapter over 55 and getting a job because if things don’t change this will be more and I will need all the help I can get. Especially since I haven’t worked for 15 years. Which most employees aren’t going to like. Even though I had my own company.

I like3d finding resources inside the book for us to call when we need help which I shared with my Mother in Law who has been helping her family out and needs all the help they can get. If you haven’t had the opportunity to read this new book I hope you do and that you don’t let it saying Single and Women stop you because even men can benefit from the advice given inside this book.

About

Single Women and Money: How to Live Well on Your Income by Margaret Price and Jill Gianola  (Nov. 11, Rowman & Littlefield) is a highly readable guide that helps single women live a financially secure and successful life. Single Women and Money is a book for the millions of unmarried women in America who must make ends meet on a single salary. Typically less than what men earn. Single Women and Money brings the unmarried women’s perspective to saving, spending wisely, managing with children, shedding debt, investing in line with your values, planning for retirement and long-term care, paying taxes, job hunting, leaving a legacy and more.

SINGLE WOMEN AND MONEY Uses stories of actual women, as well as data and experts’ insights, Single Women and Money chronicles the financial issues of single women. The book provides the tools needed to tackle their daily and longer-term needs and probes the issues specific to divorcees, widows, women who never married, and single mothers.

Single women reveal their moving stories detailing how many have overcome obstacles. From there, the book provides a wide range of specific guidance on money issues targeted to singles. These include saving, spending wisely, managing with children, shedding debt, investing in line with your values, planning for retirement and long-term care, navigating Social Security, paying taxes, landing a job after age 55, protecting financial assets, leaving a legacy and more. Offering resources women can turn to in hard times, the authors also suggest ways society can, and should, assist single women.
