Welcome to our series sharing Food Holidays: November 2nd, 2021. I would like to ask you if you knew today is National Deviled Egg Day? I was going to surprised Charlie with Deviled Eggs this afternoon but when I went to cook the Eggs I found out we were out.

Eggs contain all the essential Protein, Minerals and Vitamins, except Vitamin C. Egg yolks are one of few foods that naturally contain Vitamin D.

Deviled Eggs are hard boiled, cut in half, and filled with — well, that your choice! Whether you use Mustard Chives or Bacon, Paprika , National Deviled Egg Day is for making and munching on America’s favorite treat. Celebrate on November 2nd with your favorite recipe. Using ingredients you have on hand, or buzzing to the grocery store for some Pre-made Deviled Eggs.

NATIONAL DEVILED EGG DAY ACTIVITIES

Keep it simple the classic Deviled Egg recipe includes Mayo, Dijon Mustard, and Relish. Regional recipes add different seasonings or ingredients.

You could even try dessert Deviled Eggs. Chocolate Deviled Eggs sub the Yolky center with a mixture of Cream Cheese, Cocoa Powder, Powdered Sugar, and Heavy Cream. Top with Sprinkles and a pinch of Sea Salt

  • Turn Deviled Eggs into a Caesar Salad Deviled Eggs, Olive Oil, Anchovies, and Garlic. Top the Salad with Croutons, Shredded Romaine Lettuce, and Parmesan Cheese.
  • THE WORLD IN DEVILED EGGS
    1. ​Western Europe keeps Deviled Eggs classy but the ​Netherlands, Germany, and France add Parsley and Tomato to their Deviled Eggs.
    2. ​Germany’s ​German Deviled Eggs include Cheese, Capers, and Anchovies.
    3. ​Hungarian Deviled Eggs have the Yolks mashed with White Bread soaked in Milk.
    4. ​In Sweden, Deviled Eggs include Sour Cream and Chives. Sometimes they add Caviar and Onion, or Pickled Herring.
    5. ​Paprika is a Southern Deviled Egg addition. The East Coast prefers Old Bay Seasoning.

    WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL DEVILED EGG DAY

    1. Deviled Eggs are a tasty addition to any meal.. You can even find handy carrying cases so the Deviled Eggs don’t slide all over the plate.
    2. Use Mayo or Miracle Whip then top with Dill or Olives. Add Salami or Pepperoni, Pork, or Crab. If you can think you would like it in a Egg then you can add it to your Deviled Eggs.
    3. One Egg has six grams of protein and its protein punch is so high, it’s a standard other foods are measured against.

    Recipe for Deviled Eggs

    There is many recipes to create Deviled Eggs including using Best Maid Sweet Relish in the Eggs which my mother n law Sherry does. Charlie and I hate.

    Hard Boiled Eggs which we used to make at home but here lately David has been purchasing Great Value, Hard Boiled Eggs, 6 Count

    Mayonnaise and you can use Miracle Whip or Hellman’s or even the Store Brand depending on what you like

    Mustard and we use French’s but again you can use your favorite Mustard including Spicy if its what you like

    Sandwich Spread and we usually use Kraft America’s Favorite Sandwich Spread but you can use your favorite including Store Brand.

    Cut the Eggs in half and scoop out the Yellow

    Mix the Mayonnaise, Mustard and Sandwich Spread to taste then mix with the Eggs

    For decoration you can sprinkle with Paprika

    Scoop inside the Eggs and Serve
