Spirit Untamed!

The Mommies Reviews

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Review Wire Media for Dreamworks.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch movies with my family. Before Covid hit I was able to take my niece Lily and my nephew Jason to a movie but since they we haven’t been able to do anything together.

With both of them not going to school this year there parents haven’t let them out of the house and Charlie and I have missed them so much. We missed Jason graduating from Kindergarten last year and Lily this year.

When I let Charlie know I was going to screen Spirit Untamed he said I wish Lily was here she would love this movie and I knew Charlie was right because she loves Horses.

As for Jason Charlie and I knew he would like the adventure and seeing the train in the movie. I got ready to watch the movie when my phone dinged. It was my sister asking if she could come over.

I said yes, that would be fine because I could watch the movie later. She arrived and honked her horn. Charlie and I went out to the car and she had Lily and Jason with her.

She asked if we wanted to go get a drink then they could play with Charlie. Charlie and I looked at each other and said yes, lets go get a drink then we have a surprise for everyone.

I called David who was still home and asked him to run to the Dollar Store to pick up Treats for the kids while we grabbed drinks. Then we went home and Charlie kept them outside while I went in and Popped Popcorn.

David arrived back home and we asked the kids to come inside with us. Charlie asked them to follow him into my office were we had the movie ready to play.

Charlie sat out the snacks and drinks. David turned on the TV and both Lily and Jason said on, we wanted to see this movie. I asked Debbie if we had time for them to watch it with us and still play outside.

She checked with there parents who said they could stay all day. Charlie and I were so happy. The movie started and Lily crawled up into my lap and didn’t movie until the movie was over.

I loved hearing Jason and Charlie discussing what they thought might happen. Once the story was done all three of them asked to re-watch the film.

I asked them what they liked and Charlie said he liked the Bad Guy but what would you expect Charlie likes to be tough. Jason said the train and the mountains was cool.

Lily let me know she loved the Horses and the dresses at the end of the movie. My sister said she liked the music and we all liked the story of friendship and how goodness prevailed over Evil.

Once the movie finished I showed Lily the T Shirt I had and she couldn’t wait to put it on with the backpack. Lily said the backpack would be perfect for school next year.

Charlie and Jason liked the Slap Bracelets and said they would like to have one of there own. When I asked Charlie what he would do with the bracelet he said hang it on our Entertainment wall once we got the movie for our home library.

About:

Spirit Untamed is an epic adventure about a headstrong girl longing for a place to belong who discovers a kindred spirit when her life intersects with a wild horse. Spirit Untamed is the next chapter in the beloved story from DreamWorks Animation.

Lucky Prescott (Isabela Merced, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) never really knew her late mother, Milagro Navarro (Eiza González, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), a fearless horse-riding stunt performer from Miradero, a small town on the edge of the wide-open frontier.

Like her mother, Lucky isn’t exactly a fan of rules and restrictions, which has caused her Aunt Cora (Academy Award® winner Julianne Moore) no small amount of worry.

Lucky has grown up in an East Coast City under Cora’s watchful eye, but when Lucky presses her own luck with one too many risky escapades, Cora picks up stakes and moves them both back with Lucky’s father, Jim (Oscar® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal), in Miradero.

Lucky is decidedly unimpressed with the sleepy little town. She has a change of heart when she meets Spirit, a wild Mustang who shares her independent streak, and befriends two local horseback riders, Abigail Stone (Mckenna Grace, Captain Marvel) and Pru Granger (Marsai Martin, Little). Pru’s father, stable owner Al Granger (Emmy winner Andre Braugher, Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine), is the best friend of Lucky’s father.

When a heartless horse wrangler (Emmy nominee Walton Goggins, FX’s Justified) and his team plan to capture Spirit and his herd and auction them off to a life of captivity and hard labor, Lucky enlists her new friends and bravely embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to rescue the horse who has given her freedom and a sense of purpose, and has helped Lucky discover a connection to her mother’s legacy and to her Mexican heritage that she never expected.

Spirit Untamed is the next chapter in DreamWorks Animation’s beloved franchise that began with the 2002 Oscar-nominated film Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron and includes an Emmy-winning TV series.

The film is directed by Elaine Bogan (Netflix and DreamWorks Animation Television’s Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia) and is produced by Karen Foster (co-producer, How to Train Your Dragon).

The film’s co-director is Ennio Torresan (head of story, The Boss Baby), and the film’s score is by composer Amie Doherty (Amazon’s Undone, DreamWorks Animation’s Marooned).
