Shop Class For Everyone published by Sharon & David Bowers is a book I received in exchange for this review.
Homeschooling Charlie allows me to foster his curiosity about the things he is interested in. Like re-building a old timey truck with his dad. In the near future God willing.
Which is why I wanted to read Shop Class For Everyone and see how it compared to the shop class the school hosted when I was in school. Although, David and I weren’t one of the lucky ones who took Shop in school through this book we can now.
I started to read the book and found myself reaching for a notebook and learned how to change a Flat Tire which I never knew how to do because someone always did it for me and that isn’t what I wanted to teach Charlie.
Charlie and I was even able to fix a couple holes in his wall from the tips in the book instead of waiting for David to do it for us. Or for me to hire someone allowing me to save the money I would have spent.
Not, only that I always thought I knew how to wash a car but they included tips on how to wash a car I didn’t know which I can share with Charlie and David.
I believe Shop Class For Everyone should be given to every Pre-Teen who has a Bike or is beginning to drive as well as College Graduates who will be living on Campus or getting there own home.
Did you remember your goggles?
There used to be a time when pretty much every high school offered Shop class, where students learned to use a circular saw or rewire a busted lamp- all while discovering the satisfaction of being self-reliant and doing it yourself.
Shop Class for Everyone now offers anyone who might have missed this vital class a crash course in these practical life skills. Packed with illustrated step by step instructions, plus relevant charts, lists, and handy graphics, here’s how to plaster a wall, build a bookcase from scratch, unclog a drain, and change a flat tire (on your car or bike).
It’s all made clear in plain, nontechnical language for any level of DIYer, and it comes with a guarantee: No matter how simple the task, doing it with your own two hands provides a feeling of accomplishment that no app or device will ever give you.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
