Must-Have Tools To Operate a Successful Nail Salon
- Nail Clippers
This is an obvious tool that you will need when doing nails. You want to make sure to purchase a pair that can be easily sanitized. Make sure that you purchase a pair that is sturdy and will survive being used daily.
- Nail Files
This is another item that you will use constantly. You will either want to invest in a very well-made nail file that can be sanitized or chose a brand of disposable files that work well.
- Nail Buffer
This tool’s job is to help buff out any ridges in your nails and to make sure they are smooth and even. Using a nail buffer can also give your nails a natural shine. Before using this tool you will want to make sure that your nails are completely clean and you will want to make sure that you are gentle.
- Cuticle Pusher
This tool is used to push your cuticles back so that they look better. You can either invest in a cuticle pusher that can be sanitized or chose to use a disposable one on each customer. Before using the cuticle pusher you will want to make sure to apply some cuticle oil.
- Cuticle Cutter
This a tool that should be used to cut away overgrown cuticles. You will want to make sure you are very gentle when you use these as you can easily damage your cuticle or the skin around your nails. Make sure that you purchase a sturdy pair that will sanitize easily and survive being used daily.
- Nail Brush
These brushes are small with firm bristles and are great for cleaning your nails. YOu will want to use the small brush with a small amount of soap and warm water.
- Pumice Stone
This is a great tool to remove dead skin. You will mostly only use the stones on customers’ feet in your salon. It will easily scrub away rough and dead skin. This item can not be sanitized and should be discarded after each customer.
- Toe Separator
This item comes in handy when you are polishing someone’s toes. These are normally made of foam and easily fir between the toes of the user keep the nails separated so that you can easily paint toenails without them getting smudged. These are not able to be sanitized and should be either sent home with the customer or discarded.
- Cuticle Oil
Is an Important product to use for every customer. You will want to massage a small amount into the cuticles before you trim them and push them back.
- Orange Stick
This tool is simply a wooden stick, but it has multiple uses in your salon daily. It can be used as a disposable way of pushing back cuticles. You can also use it to clean up under someone’s nails. This tool will always only be good for one use.
