This site from The Nemours Foundation is overwhelming and fabulous for teaching about the different body systems. This website has that, and much more. 

Check it out sometime when you have a lot of time. You’ll have to bookmark this one and return several times to explore the many offerings here. Before you invite your kids to check out this website please PREVIEW THE SITE TO DETERMINE SUITABILITY OF CONTENT.

This ad-supported website is all about ladybugs! Maintained by an Entomologist, this site offers free Scientific information, terrific photographs, fun facts, coloring pages, and ladybug craft ideas!

When you get to the site you’ll see a brief introduction. Use the “Facts about Ladybugs” link on the menu on the left side of the screen to find the answers to questions such as: 

  • What do ladybugs eat?
  • Are ladybugs poisonous?
  • How did the ladybug get its name?
  • Do the spots tell you how old they are?
  • And many more!

You’ll also find ladybug crafts and coloring pages. And you’ll find information to use for science projects and fairs, and why they are considered a “beneficial” insect.

Digital Savvy

Convert your child’s screen time to a more productive activity with an online computer science curriculum from CompuScholar. You do not need to be an expert, as this curriculum is user-friendly, teaching in a step-by-step format.

Check out all the webcams at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and learn about Ocean Science! Some of the cams are only live during certain hours, but there are recordings if you are viewing them after hours.

When you are finished seeing all the Marine Animals, learn more using the “For Educator” link in the upper menu to find online courses, parent-led activities, crafts, and printables.

Click on “Curriculum” under the “Teacher Development” section then choose a grade level or exhibit to find learning materials. There will be a focus question, overview, objectives, background for the topic you are interested in, then a materials list, procedure, and more.
