Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop

This is a review for the children’s book Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop written by Dan Pergram who sent me a copy in exchange for the review. The thoughts in this review is mine and my families.

I must tell you GOD works in mysterious ways because as I sat down to write this review I read the Authors about info and I must tell you I had chill bumps.

Because the Author A) lives in Crowley, Texas which is a hour from my home. Which we have visited for Homeschool Field Trips. B) His wife’s name is Suzanne just like my Suzzane.

I could feel my Suzzie’s presence as I read Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop. C) They Author and his wife also have a daughter named Leslie just like David and I do.

Charlie hasn’t ever been into a Airport and through Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop Charlie was able to experience first hand what flying feels like. He isn’t afraid of Planes now.

Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop brought Charlie and David closer together. David even read the book with Charlie. Charlie asked David about his job. Leading us to new Homeschooling Lessons featuring not only Airplanes but Transportation.

I plan on purchasing any books that come out in the series for all the children I know including Charlie who is 13,.

Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Popis for younger children Charlie could relate to the story. David as you know can’t read but he even sat down and tried to read the story on his own to my nephew Dixie. To see David do this was a true miracle and GOD MOMENT.

Charlie let me know he loved the illustrations and colors they used throughout Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop. Charlie also enjoyed seeing the kids get ready to fly. Now Charlie says he isn’t afraid to fly one day.

I do not have a copy of Pop-Pop Airplane How Do You Fly? just Let’s Go Fly With Pop-Pop. But you can bet your bottom dollar I will be purchasing a copy of both books to add to our Homeschooling Library.

As well as picking up copies of both books for my nieces and nephews who can not only learn about Flying but Airplanes. Then they can talk to there Uncle David who works at the Airport about the planes.

For a family field trip which would also count as a Homeschooling Field Trip for Charlie we could take everyone out to the Airport to watch the plans take off

We could have a Picnic Lunch and read both books and have everyone share what there favorite parts of the book is. As well as draw there favorite scenes.

Charlie could even even add to the story by creating a third book and having everyone share what they think would happen and why. Then Charlie could print out the story our family wrote and give a copy to our nieces and nephew along with my grandson.

About the books

What inspired you to write a children’s book?

I have been a pilot for over forty years, both in the U.S. Air Force and for Southwest Airlines Company. In talking to my grandchildren and children I encountered on my airplane I realized how curious children are about airplanes, flying and travel. I also discovered that most parents didn’t know how to answer their children’s questions. So, based on my experience and knowledge, my wife urged me to write a book for children to explain in the simplest terms how an airplane operates and flies. The concept is that parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends would read these books to children as entertainment, learning and adventure.

What lessons do you hope children will take away from learning with Pop-Pop Airplane?

Literacy is the cornerstone to learning and success. I hope my books encourage children to read, enjoy reading and feel as though they have been on a learning adventure with each book I write. Reading is
fun and helps children connect with the world around them. Whether children are first-time fliers or seasoned travelers this book series will be fun, educational and entertaining.

The Adventures of Pop-Pop Airplane is a travel and education series for young readers. Travel is always exciting and intimidating for children so let’s educate them on what to expect.

Then, let’s take them towonderful places, both near and far, and be an entertaining tour guide as we go. Pop-Pop Airplane also has lots of friends who will be introduced in future adventures.

About The Author

Dan Pegram is a retired United States Air Force lieutenant colonel and command pilot who flew the KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft. After his retirement fromthe US Air Force, Dan worked at Southwest Airlines,
where he served as a Boeing 737 captain and chairman of the airline union’s professional standards committee.

Dan is now the president of Contrail Creations LLC, which
is dedicated to children’s education, literacy, and marketing. Dan resides in Crowley, Texas, with his wife, Suzanne.

They are the proud parents of daughter Leslie,and sons Brian and Kevin. They have four grandchildren, Bailey, Charlotte, Kamden and Kollins.
