The Mommies Reviews

Would you help me welcome our newest children’s book Completely Me by author, Justine Green, Ed.D! to our Christmas Gift Guide Shopping for: Boys & Girls.

I was sent a copy of Completely Me in exchange for a review and spot in our Christmas Gift Guide. I couldn’t wait for the book to arrive to share with Charlie.

As this allowed us to learn about a Disability we didn’t know about and to learn how we could help her feel more accepted. Through the novel Charlie used in our Homeschool Reading Class Charlie has even asked to learn Sign Language as a family. I’m so proud of Charlie for wanting to do this so he can speak to anyone at any time.

Completely Me by [Dr. Justine Green, Ana Silva]
Completely Me is a story about a little girl who never noticed there was something different about herself until others pointed it out. When she decides to stand up for herself, she teaches the townspeople an important lesson about acceptance.

“This heartfelt story addresses the special challenges and social interactions of children with disabilities with empathy and charm.”

—Stuart J. Murphy, Visual Learning Strategist, Author of the award-winning MathStart and I See I Learn series Completely Me is a celebration of life. It is a clarion call to all children (and their adults) to be all they can be.

Completely Me inspires young readers to recognize that while each of us is different, we are each perfect in our own way. Completely Me is an important book with a special message that will resonate in youngsters, and stay with them for a lifetime.”
—Anita Meinbach, Ed.D., Former Clinical Associate Professor, University of Miami School of Teaching and Learning

“Beneath the context in this magical little book, Completely Me has an underlying honesty and truth that Justine Green touches with her beautiful words. Adults and children alike will be enriched by her message. Read and enjoy.”
Ellen Brazer, Author of Clouds Across the Sun, And So It Was Written, and The Wondering Jew: My Journey into Judaism

Dr. Justine Green’s children’s book titled Completely Me is based on her own life, disability, and coming-of-age journey. Completely Me is a powerful story about a little girl who never noticed there was something different about herself, until others pointed it out instead.

When she stands up for herself, the people around her learn the important lesson of self-acceptance, that everyone is different in their own unique ways, and that those imperfections are what make you perfect.

Author Justine Green was born with Atresia and Microtia. Microtia is a condition where the outer ear does not develop properly and Atresia is the absence of the ear canal, leaving her deaf in her left ear.

Knowing she was different from birth, and boasting three reconstructive surgeries under her belt, Justine learned to read lips and worked hard through school.

She used her disability as motivation instead of an excuse, and ultimately found her life’s purpose through these challenges. Her passion for inspiring others moved her to write a story based on her own life, Completely Me, to teach readers to love themselves and others, and that everyone’s imperfections are what make them perfect.

Completely Me is available in paperback for $12.99 on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IngramSpark and through Kindle.
