Working from home during the Pandemic

The Mommies Reviews

Because of the pandemic, one has to juggle working from home and dealing with the heavy burden of sudden unemployment. Mentioning only two of the common stresses caused by the disease to a parent’s life already sounds so stressful. Now let us tackle the question that left each and every mother, father, or guardian’s thoughts challenged: With this pandemic going on and without any sure time for it to finally stop bothering our lives, how will my child be able to continue his/her education?

One main action taken by the world in hopes of slowing down the spread of the virus is to close down several institutions and establishments where people tend to gather without social distancing; unfortunately, schools and universities belong to that category. But to all parents out there, do not worry because we’ve got some handy tips for you to try to be able to give your children a quality learning even if education only happens in the comforts of your home.

Start with yourself by accepting the situation that the world is experiencing right now. Instead of fighting what you’re currently experiencing, accept it. Through this, you will be able to have peace of mind and all the frustrations and anger that you have towards the negative energy brought by the pandemic will vanish. With acceptance, everything follows.

Remember that no man is an island. When you feel like you’re not doing great or you have a not so good way of making your child learn, seek for help. Do not be afraid to ask for some advice from your co-parents, your neighbors, or even the real  experts and professionals.

Now for working moms and dads, make an efficient plan to balance your work and time for childcare. Also, remind yourself to relax. It is because sometimes, when you are stressed out and mad about something, you might not notice it but it will reflect on how you treat your child (unconsciously). That may affect your kid’s emotions, and it might lead to disturbed performance in class.

One important thing to remember too during homeschooling, is to never forget to give your kids time to play and be active. Radiation from your gadgets’ screen is dangerous for your child’s health, so it is just right to control their exposure to gadgets and technology and make them realize that there is more to the animations and graphics that you see on your phones and laptops.

This situation that we are all in right now is undeniably hard. But if you just remember to keep on keeping on, and to focus on what really matters (like your child’s sake, or your family’s peace of mind), everything will just go smoothly. Homeschooling is all about being flexible, and not getting stressed for the fact that you would really need to be such.
