I was on Facebook yesterday when I saw an ad for The Hungry Caterpillar. As soon as I did I knew this would be a show I wanted to see. If I had been smart I would’ve asked for tickets for my Birthday which was yesterday but I didn’t.
I’m going to talk to David and Charlie and see if they would want to MEET THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR, 10 LITTLE RUBBER DUCKS, BROWN BEAR, AND SANTA. If so order I will tickets for all of us. If not then I plan on asking my sister if she would like to attend this event with me.
Debbie could purchase THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR, book for Lily and Jason and bring them with us. I’m sure both of my niece and nephew would enjoy meeting THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR, 10 LITTLE RUBBER DUCKS, BROWN BEAR, AND SANTA
MEET THE HUNGRY CATERPILLAR, 10 LITTLE RUBBER DUCKS, BROWN BEAR, AND SANTA IN NEW HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR
(DALLAS, TX) – The Very Hungry Caterpillar is still hungry, and he is back at Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) for more. This time, he has brought along some new friends to help him celebrate the holiday season and his 50th birthday!
Come enjoy Eric Carle’s iconic characters brought to life with theatrical exuberance and brilliant puppetry in THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR CHRISTMAS SHOW.
With 75 larger-than-life colorful puppets made to emulate Eric Carle’s beautiful collages, the entire stage becomes a storybook to remember. THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR CHRISTMAS SHOW opens at the Rosewood Center for Family Arts on November 23 and runs through December 29.
Alongside the classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar, the performance contains three additional childhood favorites: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?; 10 Little Rubber Ducks; and the Christmas-themed Dream Snow. THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR CHRISTMAS SHOW sends attendees on a holiday journey fit for all ages.
Master Puppeteer Douglass Burks is returning to direct this second edition in the series. He truly enjoys bringing these books to life. “One of the things I’m most excited to work on is the new stories” Burks said, eager to show off this new production. “They’re so faithful to the books – especially in the design of the puppets.”
With an abundance of heart and lots of joy, THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR CHRISTMAS SHOW not only perfectly fits Dallas Children’s Theater’s season theme Color the world with Kindness, but also celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Very Hungry Caterpillar picture book originally published in 1969.
“The level of audience interactivity is also very appealing,” Burks said. “The audience is definitely a character in this show, just as important as any of the actors!”
