The AT&T Performing Arts Center

The Mommies Reviews

I was able to visit The AT&T Performing Arts Center in collaboration with Children’s Health who was proud to present Family Entertainment. Bringing Shows To Delight Kids of All Ages

As the AT&T Performing Arts Center celebrates 10 years of Staging the     Amazing, its announcing a new season of family entertainment, sponsored by Children’s Health. The programs will especially appeal to parents and children, eager to experience the magic of live performing arts in the Dallas Arts District.

I was excited to hear what Debbie Storey, president and CEO, AT&T Performing Arts Center would be sharing with us and what special guest they were bringing us to see.

We meet at the PNC Lounge which inside the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. I liked knowing we wouldn’t have to look for parking because we had complimentary parking in the Lexus Red Parking Garage.

The garage is right around the corner from the Winspear Opera House. We walked in and were ushered into the Lounge. As I walked in I was taken in by the decorations and the food we would be having for lunch.

We was asked if we would like a glass of Champagne. The Host let us know to find we could fix out plates. This was my first time to have dinner here and I was excited to try all the food.

Charlie and I got a glass of tea and water then we went to get our dinner. I liked seeing they had prepared a Buffet dinner. We had Chicken, Mashed Potato’s, Salad and Steamed Vegetables and a Butter Cake.

I liked finding out there was Chicken and Mashed Potatoes because this meant Charlie would eat with me. The food was delicious. Charlie enjoyed the Mashed Potatoes and I liked the flavor of the chicken.

We finished dinner and I went to get a glass of Champagne and the Butter Cake. I wish David had been with us as there was Strawberries and Whipped Cream on the cake. The cake was the perfect bite size dessert and just enough for me since I’m on a diet.

The Family Entertainment program began and I was memorized learning about Children’s Health or Cooks Children’s Hospital and how they have been a sponsor for 10 years. If we were still Homeschooling full time they even had included a Stem program into one of the shows.

Being a family that lives on a Budget finding money for my family to attend 6 shows and to purchase 3 tickets to each is almost impossible but it will not be this time because two of the events is only $10 a ticket.

The shows are being held on the Campus of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House and the Dee and Charles Wyly Theater, in the downtown Dallas Arts District.

I would like to let you know they are offering a 10% discount with the purchase of three or more Family Entertainment shows. This is a huge blessing to my family.

Doktor Kaboom and The Wheel of Science

DOKTORKABOOM_Webheader.jpg

So much science, so little time. . . Doktor Kaboom is having trouble picking his favorite science demonstrations, so he’s bringing them all! Unfortunately there are way too many to do them all in one show. The solution: The Wheel of Science! Doktor Kaboom has built a great big spinning wheel and labeled it with everything from optical illusions to chemical reactions to a homemade hovercraft, and more! At least a dozen fantastic demonstrations ready to go. Wherever the wheel stops, that’s what’s next! Will we turn a water bottle into a rocket or catapult bananas across the stage? Electrocute a pickle or create artificial gravity? Who knows? No two shows will be the same. So, step right up, and let’s spin that wheel!

 Lightwire Theater’s The Ugly Duckling

Lightwire Theater brings a classic tale to the modern stage in an unforgettable theatrical experience. Lined with electroluminescent wire, the beloved story of The Ugly Duckling plays out on stage through a cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology and dance.

With dazzling visuals, poignant choreography and the creative use of music ranging from classical to pop, this production brings this story into a new and brilliant lig

I would like to let you know the special guest we saw was Doktor Kabom and he is from Germany which Charlie thought was cool because his father was born there.

I loved how Charlie became more animated and involved and wanting to learn about Science just from meeting Doktor Kaboom yesterday. David was even able to be a part of his performance and I can never thank Doktor Kaboom or the staff enough for choosing Charlie.

Charlie has even asked me how he can earn money to go and see Doktor Kaboom’s show which is huge because Charlie always expects money to fall out of the sky.

If your Homeschooling your children Doktor Kaboom’s is one show you will not want to miss. Or if you have a Scientist in your midst they should see Doktor Kaboom’s . David, even says he wants to go Doktor Kaboom’s and watch all the explosions because like all boys he likes seeing things blow up.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
