Back Forty Smokehouse

The Mommies Reviews

Once a week I have lunch with my friend Debbie. On our lunch dates Debbie will search Groupon for coupons. I haven’t used Groupon but I need to because Groupon allows us to save money on attractions and restaurants we visit.

Debbie purchased a coupon for Back Forty Smokehouse because we both enjoy Bar-B-Que and trying out new Potato Salad and desserts. The coupon allowed us purchase a $20 Value for Two People for $14.

I had been to Back Forty Smokehouse with David and Charlie in the past but I wanted to try the food again. Debbie and I walked in and I liked the porch. The decorations were appealing.

Back Forty Smokehouse

I wish Back Forty Smokehouse had a Menu. I could have sat down and looked through the Menu before getting into the line. You go through a line and order your meals. On the way to the dinning room you pass the drink station.

There is a condiment bar where they have Pickles. Debbie walked up and got Pickles and liked how clean and stocked the Condiment Bar was. Debbie also liked the variety of Soda’s they carry.

The restaurant was clean and the staff was busy the whole time. I went into the restroom which was well lighted and clean. If Charlie had been with us I wouldn’t have had to worry about someone bothering Charlie if he went into the restroom.

Debbie and I ordered the Lunch Special which was a Sandwich of our choice and one Side item. Debbie chose Chopped Beef without the Bread because of her diet.

Debbie said the Chopped Beef wasn’t fatty and that it had a good taste. The seasoning wasn’t over powering. If we return each of us are going to try the others meal.

I chose the Lunch Special as well and being able to chose the Sandwich of my choice. After looking over the menu I chose a Sliced Beef Sandwich and Potato Salad as well.

The Potato Salad was okay but I wish they had used more Pickles and Eggs. Debbie agreed with me. If we had added a little Mustard or Mayonnaise I know both of us would have liked it more.

The Sliced Beef was tender and wasn’t chewy. I also liked the seasoning they used. The bread was soft and wasn’t hard. Next time like Debbie I will leave the bread off my sandwich.

With the monetary amount of our Coupon we were able to get two drinks and we still had money left over. Debbie ordered a Peach Cobbler and also a Apple Cobbler. I don’t like Cobblers and they weren’t on my diet I didn’t want a dessert.

Debbie tried the Peach Cobbler. Debbie liked the amount of Peaches. The crust was Flaky and Debbie said they used just the right amount of Seasonings.

Then Debbie tried the Apple Cobbler before packing it to take home for a snack that evening. Debbie said it was just as good as the Peach and she can’t wait to come back and order both Cobblers again.

About Back Forty Smokehouse

Back Forty Smokehouse is all about celebrating what’s best about Texas. The aromas of smoked brisket, pork ribs, and country ham waft throughout the casual space, where locals gather to catch up over authentic barbecue and ice-cold beers.

As guests dine, they can also watch football on one of seven flat-screen TVs or tap their boots along to some of the Lone Star state’s best live music acts. I can’t wait to return and hear the Music.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
