St. Patrick’s Day Green Pasta comes together with basic supplies . This St. Patrick’s Day Green Pasta is easy and makes for a fun sensory bin filler or a hands on way to play with basic toys.
Sensory play is fun for kids of all ages. Even as kids start to get older, playing in a bin of rice, pasta, or even popcorn makes for a fun way to relax. I had wanted to try dying pasta for a while. I set out to do just that. You will notice I added a touch of fluorescent paint to the mix so I can repurpose this later when we have a blacklight to demonstrate.
Supplies
Hand Sanitizer; 1 Tablespoon
Green and Blue food coloring
Dry Pasta; 1 cup
A paper plate to dry on
Zipper Seal Baggie
Directions
Add dry pasta to the bag.
Add hand sanitizer
Next add 3 drops of green food coloring.
Then one drop of blue food coloring.
At this time I also added one spoon of fluorescent paint to the mix, this is optional.
Seal the bag and shake until all of the pasta is well coated.
Pour the pasta onto a plate to allow to dry for about 12 hours. You might want to stir it half way through the process. When it is dry you will have a nice vibrant St. Patrick’s Day Green Pasta.
Do you think your kids would have fun with this St. Patrick’s Day Green Pasta in a sensory bin? If you make this, be sure to supervise the kids and not to let them eat it!
