Texas Motor Speedway Presents Speedway Children’s Charities -Texas Chapter Annual Grant Ceremony & Tree Lighting. My family attended Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Annual Grant Ceremony & Tree Lighting last year and to see all the BIKES being given away was life changing.

As well as allowing me to began working with Texas Motor Speedway through God. Because I found Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Annual Grant Ceremony & Tree Lighting online and reached out to ask if Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Annual Grant Ceremony & Tree Lighting would be fine to attend and share on here. I was told yes and since then we have attended many events at Texas Motor Speedway although none mean as much to us as Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Annual Grant Ceremony & Tree Lighting.

TUESDAY beginning at 6 p.m. The 74-foot, 7,000-pound tree will be lit at 6:20 p.m. and immediately followed by a holiday-themed fireworks show. The event is open to the public.

WHERE: Speedway Club Circle, Texas Motor Speedway, 3545 Lone Star Circle, Fort Worth.

WHO: Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage, SCC-Texas Board President “Scooter” Gierisch, grant recipients from various North Texas children’s organizations.

MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES: Gossage, Gierisch, along with a representative from the SCI Tech Discovery Center that is receiving the Founder’s Grant will be available prior and following the event. The event also will provide an outstanding visual for television and photography with the holiday-themed fireworks show being a dramatic backdrop for the giant 74-foot Norway Spruce adorned with oversized ornaments, decorative lights and a massive star on top.

Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter will be distributing more than $250,000 in grants to North Texas children’s organizations, including a $139,000 Founder’s Grant to the SCI Tech Discovery Center. The grant will be used to bring the Mobile Maker Van to life. The workshop on wheels will consist of a van and 16-foot trailer outfitted with the essential tools and kits to operate on-site stream programs, which will bring opportunities to schools and children who otherwise would be unable to visit the Sci-Tech Discovery Center.

The annual outdoor public event also is highlighted by the lighting of one of the state’s largest living Christmas trees that is a 74-foot, 7,000-pound Norway Spruce and one of the few holiday-themed fireworks shows in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The event is free to the public and guests will receive complimentary hot cocoa and holiday cookies as well as a voucher for a free trip through the popular Gift of Lights holiday display at Texas Motor Speedway ($25 value/1 voucher per family/valid that evening only).

SCC-Texas will present bicycles and helmets to Santa Cop, Metrocrest Services and Lewisville New Hope Learning Center, while the JPS Foundation will receive baby carriers.

The tree lighting has been a speedway tradition since the facility opened in 1997. This year’s tree is decorated with 10,000 LED lights, oversized ornaments and topped with a 4’x4′ gold star featuring the Speedway Motorsports, Inc. corporate globe. The event includes a special visit from Santa Claus and Encore, an ensemble group from Northwest High School, to sing holiday songs.

SCC-Texas Chapter has made a lasting impact on children in North Texas since its inception in 1997 by awarding more than $10.85 million in grants to area children’s organizations. The funds are raised through special events held throughout the year, with the majority of them centered on the three major race weeks at Texas Motor Speedway.
