Tips for new silicone baby doll parent
Buying a silicone baby doll is a big joy but also a big responsibility.
Most people like role-playing with these little babies and in the process, they tend to damage them. This is especially true if a person is a new parent and doesn’t know how to behave with these items.
Due to the enormous number of details these realistic dolls have, it is really easy to damage something. Furthermore, constant role playing can lead to accidents. So, it is best if you learn more about these babies, their parts and what to avoid.
Here is a brief guide that will help you do just that!
Dolls in public places
An interesting thing about these dolls is that no one will ever damage them in public. This is mostly due to the fact that people usually mistake them for real kids which is why they’re extra careful around them. Still, you have to behave responsibly when taking your silicone darling to a walk. Make sure to hold your doll properly so that the people don’t freak out. Even though most silicone parents will hold their doll normally, like a real baby, there are those who will hold them for head, belly or feet. Try to avoid this. Besides general panic, it might also damage to certain parts of a doll. Also, make sure to avoid leaving silicone baby in a car. There were cases where people broke strangers’ windshields just to extract a doll which they thought was a real child.
Water damage
Water is one of silicone dolls’ worst enemies. These babies have a cloth body that is really susceptible to liquids. If dipped in water too often, the mold may develop, and fabric may be affected as well. Too much water can also have a negative impact on skin. Given that everything is handmade and lots of intricate details are added, the paint may lose colors or even vanish after some time and enough exposure.
Damage to body
Besides water, there are other threats to the doll’s cloth body. Given that it’s made from cloth, it is highly susceptible to wear and tear. If you have pets at home, there is a good chance they will shred it. So, make sure to isolate your dolls. Besides pets and children, silicone baby’s body can also be affected by the movement of the limbs. As you start moving them around, micro tears may appear in the areas around joints. These tears will increase in time and will completely destroy the fabric. In order to prevent it, try to reduce movement of the limbs and do it slowly.
Nursery
Getting a nursery is a big investment. You need to remodel a whole room which takes a lot of time. But, before you take this step, make sure it’s worth it. While it’s okay for a true doll enthusiast to have a separate room for their dolls, ask yourself are you one of them? If not, it’s better if you skip this idea.
