Yesterday David, Charlie and I attended Dino-Fest at the Perot Museum in Dallas. There was so much to do that I think we could have attended both Saturday and Sunday and still not got everything we wanted to do. Although we had a lot of fun and was even able to have lunch across the street at El Fenix and watch a movie at the Perot. So this morning I thought I would break the event down by levels so you can see what all there was to do As well as what all my family was able to do. Or wanted to do but missed for one reason or another.
Plaza Tent was set outside so when you walked up to the Perot before entering the building there was a lot of fun activities for families to take part in. Including the Splash Pad and the Frog Leap Frog. As for Charlie we couldn’t pass up the Jeep they had outside that was used in a movie. If you want to know which one Charlie says leave us a comment and we will let you know.
Without further ado here is what there was to do in the Plaza Tent.
Dino Dance-Off
Dino Fest Dance Off which Charlie, David and I watched and we had so much fun seeing the dance off that Charlie can’t wait for us to set one up at home. The sad part is we won’t have Dino’s for our Dance Off unless we can talk David into dressing up. Although I don’t see that happening. So Charlie would like to ask you a question do you know who we can get to dress up as Dino’s for our party?
T. Rex Basketball Dribbling Contest
Charlie loves Basketball and we had thought of participating but by the time we got there they was looking for adults and we had missed the children’s turns. So Charlie and I tried to get David to go up and play but his knees was bothering him so he passed. As for me Charlie knew with my foot hurting the way it was that it wasn’t smart for me to play. So we sat and watched everyone else and we had so much fun. I would love to bring Charlie back in the future to play if Perot Museum host Dino-Fest in the future and I hope you bring your children as well.
Dino Spelling Bee
As I was walking through the Exhibits all I kept thinking was how this would be perfect for Homeschooling and learning not only about Dinosaurs but Fossils as well. As we walked around because I wanted Charlie to have fun I didn’t ask him to go to the Dino Spelling Bee but I wanted to as I wanted to see which words he could and couldn’t spell. So this week we will be putting together our own Dino Spelling list based on what we saw yesterday. If you would like to see the words we will be using leave me a comment and I will post them for you.
Dino Trivia
I thought about going to listen in to the Dino Trivia although I didn’t need to because throughout our visit Charlie was quizzing me and teaching me Dino facts which was fun to see what all Charlie knew. Charlie also shared things he saw when he went to Perot with his school for there Field Trip. Which I wasn’t able to attend as I was working that day.
Costume Meet-Up
Charlie and I loved seeing all the workers walking around in Costumes and we ended up doing so many other things that we forgot all about the Costume Meet-Up or we would have went. I just wish I had purchased shirts with Dino’s one them for Charlie and I. Or that we had brought extra money so we could stop by the Museum and purchase a Dino tail they had for sale. As they was so cute and a nice purple color. I know if we had gotten one that my nice and nephew would have wanted one as well. So these would have made the perfect Christmas Gift for them.
Beer Garden
I did mention to David there was a Beet Garden but he was having to much trouble staying up with Charlie and I that he didn’t have time to visit it. Although he said he would the next time because the beer he had at lunch wasn’t enough and he got hot and tired and needed the extra energy as Charlie and I never slowed down. As for BEER and ENERGY I don’t think that works. He should have used Focus from Young Living Essential Oils like Charlie and I did before we left home and David would have been able to stay caught up with us.
Modern-Day Dinosaurs with Window to the Wind
There was plenty of lectures like the ones below and David and I did sit down to watch one of them and we let Charlie got back into the Museum down to the Sports Exhibits which he had been waiting to visit all day and I must tell you it was nice to just sit and rest and let someone else talk for a while. I wish I had stayed for all the Lectures and taken notes as we could have used the information in our Homeschooling classes. Or that they had handouts with important facts on them because I could have shared them with the teachers in the school Charlie attends part-time.
