Welcome to today’s Homeschool Resource, We are going to learn about Joh Muir and check out his National Historic Site. Did you know he was the “Father of the National Parks,”?

Celebrate the birthday (April 21) of a naturalist, preservationist, writer, and “Father of the National Parks,” John Muir, with this virtual field trip from the National Park Service.
Visitors to the site can learn about his life through texts, timelines, slideshows, and images.
After reading the overview on the home page, navigate through the exhibits using either the upper or lower menus to explore his:
- Family – Meet John’s family and see images of them and some personal belongings.
- Home – View slideshows and explore a timeline of his home in Martinez, California.
- Legacy – Explore his contributions to America’s wild lands.
- Image Gallery – Examine all the images in the exhibit including historical photos of him and his family, artifacts, and much more.
