Everyone knows Charlie struggles with reading so I am always looking for new children’s books to order for Charlie. I hope this will entice Charlie to read more books. A lot of the books I have ordered where a series of children’s books I found. These books are part of a series of children’s books called Hugo the Happy Starfish written by Suzy Libermann.
Once we finished reading Hugo Simply Charming Charlie asked if his friends could borrow the books. So we packed the books up to take to school. Once there we let his friends take a book home to read. I am so glad
Hugo Simply Charming talks about appreciating other people which is something I ‘m always talking to Charlie about. S Charlie sat down and read the book he saw how Hugo learned to appreciate people in.
I must tell you now that Charlie has read Hugo Simply Charming he has gotten better at appreciating people like his dad. Charlie has even started to compliment people which totally surprised me. Once David heard us read the book David even started to make a effort to be more positive which I love.
I asked my sister to read Hugo Simply Charming as well and she also loved Hugo Simply Charming as much as we did. My sister even said she would purchase Hugo Simply Charming for my Nephews new baby Jason once Jason is older. So for my family Hugo Simply Charming was a huge success and something we will all purchase and use as gifts.
Charlie and I enjoyed Hugo Simply Charming illustrations and the colors of the pictures inside the book. As the colors are so bright and Suzy Liberman used fun colors in each and every picture. The pictures in Hugo Simply Charming are fun to look at. I asked Charlie if he liked knowing Hugo Simply Charming was about a Starfish and Charlie says that was his favorite part of the book.
I asked Charlie to draw and write me a book about Hugo Simply Charming next adventure which he did. If I was homeschooling Charlie I would use Hugo Simply Charming in our reading, math and English Language classes.
After we read Hugo Simply Charming I wanted to see if Charlie remembered what he had learned. So I had my sister and David sit down with us and play a couple games as Charlie is famous for getting upset when he would not win. After the first game that he won he actually got up and went and gave my sister a hug and even said she did a great job. Which totally surprised us all.
Throughout the week I would test Charlie at different times and he never did get upset when someone else would win. I was able to share some quality time with Charlie as we took time to read not only Hugo Simply Charming but other books together. Charlie learned new things from each book we read which I loved.
I even shared the Authors website with Charlies teacher who is going to look into ordering Hugo the Starfish books next year. She even showed the website to the Principal who is going to order Hugo the Starfish books for the library. All in all Hugo Simply Charming was a huge hit. I will be ordering more not only for Charlie but to give as gifts.
