David and I have been trying to take Charlie to Grapevine, Texas to see Thomas the Train from the first year he was born. Each time we try and go the tickets are sold out. So this morning I was excited when I received this press release as Charlie turns 11 this year and if we don’t take Charlie this year. Next year he makes think he is too old to go. So I am Praying its Gods will that my family is able to take Charlie this year.
Just think of all the lessons Charlie and I could do if we attend this new event. As we would be able to do lesson plans on Grapevine, Texas, Railroads, or even Thomas the Engine. Plus, it would give Charlie plenty of new books and movies to watch which he could write reports up on.

GRAPEVINE, TEXAS (February 20, 2018) – All aboard for a big adventure with Thomas April 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22! Children and fans of all ages can spend the day with their friend Thomas when Day Out With Thomas™ The Big Adventures Tour 2018, presented by Mattel, arrives at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.
This fun-filled event offers children and families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series on Nick Jr®. Little engineers are invited to take a 25-minute ride on their favorite engine, meet Sir Topham Hatt®, Controller of the Railway, and enjoy arts and crafts, train play tables, Sensory Stations, petting zoo, storytelling, live music, Sandbox Fun Dig! and more Thomas-themed activities. The tour, now in its 23rdyear, will make 42 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2018.
Since Thomas the Tank Engine left the depot more than 70 years ago, this useful engine and his Island of Sodor friends have chugged their way into the hearts of preschoolers and grownups worldwide. Based on The Railway Series of classic stories, Thomas & Friends™ is a rite of passage that inspires the imagination while teaching the life lessons of friendship, exploration and cooperation. Day Out with Thomas: The Big Adventures Tour will be hosted by the Museum of the American Railroad, the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, HIT Entertainment and is presented by Mattel.

Time: Trains depart every 45 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. The last train departs at 5:15 p.m. on Fridays and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Where: Grapevine Vintage Railroad, 705 S. Main St., Grapevine
Tickets: Ticket prices vary due to the event schedule. Tickets are required for everyone ages 24 months and up. Passengers under 24 months are not required to have a ticket but must ride on an adult’s lap. Advanced purchase is highly recommended due to the popularity of this event.
