Motivational Sunday: Resist Temptation
Good morning, How are you? I hope your weekend has been everything you were hoping it would be. As we begin a new week I wanted to change things up a bit this morning. Instead of sharing a quote with you this morning for Motivational Quotes Sunday!. I thought I would share a Bible Verse that was dropped into my lap this morning.
Today’s Key Verse:
Blessed is the man who endures temptation… he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. (NKJV) (James 1:12)
Today’s Key Thought:
Resist temptation
Charlie has been struggling with peer pressure the last couple weeks. As the kids in the neighborhood received BB Guns for Christmas. I have asked Charlie to come home when they are outside with them as Guns scare me. Even BB Guns can hurt as I remember when my sister was a child and my brother shot her with his. She was hurt for weeks.
I don’t want this to happen to Charlie or to one of his friends. The other kids have been calling Charlie a baby and mommas boy. I can see he is struggling to stay outside with them. So this week I shared this verse with Charlie and I asked him to Pray about the Gun and being outside with the other boys. I let him know if his heart was clear and he didn’t see anything wrong with it that he could stay outside and I wouldn’t say anything.
I would like to let you know Charlie has made the right choice as far as I am concerned and chosen to not be around the boys and the guns at all. As they showed there true meaning yesterday when they took one of the boys little brothers with them over to the kid’s house that the guns belong to and we’re going to shot him and they also shot Charlie.
Charlie learned that this child wasn’t truly his friends and that they are deceitful and mean. Thank God neither Charlie or Troy was hurt very badly. Charlie and Troy have decided they will play together and not even talk to the bigger kids. I have banned them from my yard. As well as warned them that if they shot Charlie or Troy I will call the police on them.
Or if I find out they have shot anything on my property I will call the police. The car light in the van which belongs to my dad has been shot out. As well as our gate and front door. I know if they aren’t careful and they are shooting from outside our gate inside that they may hit one of my dogs as they stay outside at times. If they do and I have to take them to the Vet I will not only be calling the police but take the dogs to the vets and giving their parents the bill for the puppies care.
If you’re a parent and going to give your child a gun of any kind you should be outside with them when they bring it outside. As kids are sneaky and if your not keeping a eye on them then you never know what they are or are not doing. Its your responsibility to watch your children at all times.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie, and David Cates
