Homeschooling Craft B Is For Butterfly

The Mommies Reviews

Welcome to this week’s Homeschooling Craft B Is For Butterfly

While it may be the middle of the winter, that doesn’t stop Charlie and me from dreaming of warm spring days spent playing outdoors! This week for our letter B craft we thought that Butterflies would be the perfect subject to lift our spirits on a chilly winter day!

This craft is so easy and is really lovely. You can display this as art, turn it into a card to share, or just add a touch of beauty to your refrigerator door! You probably already have everything you need in the pantry.
We used:
Farfalle pasta
Sharpies
White glue
And a sheet of light blue cardstock.
You can use paint or markers to decorate your pasta. We had best results with the ultra fine tip permanent marker for details on the wings.
To begin a handful of dry bowtie pasta will go a long way. You don’t need to use a whole box!
Draw and color on the dry pasta to give it designs like butterflies!
When you have decorated 4-7 butterflies glue them on to the cardstock. We used varying heights for our butterflies with uniform spacing.
As they were attached we allowed them to dry. If you do not want to wait for an hour or so, feel free to use a faster drying glue!
When the pasta butterflies had dried, we drew on their little antenna and added accent lines to show they were in flight.
This was a perfect fun craft for the letter B. I loved that it was economical and easy, but offers older kids, like Charlie a chance to give their project as much detail as they would like.
I hope you enjoyed this cute Butterfly Craft and will see you in two weeks without letter D craft. In the meantime, if you missed our Letter A of the week Alligator Craft you can find it here. Also, if you’re looking for letter B resources for your Homeschooling Classroom you can find them here. Or how about the Letter A?
