I’m excited I had trouble sleeping last night.Charlie and I are going to GAYLORD TEXAN RESORT. For there Holiday Event Winter Wonderland including a event called Ice! Along with snow tubing. I just wish Charlie would get up and time would hurry up as I want to leave so we can look through the Hotel. Although we aren’t due until 12:30 everyone who knows me knows I am not patient. Time hurry hurry hurry move on.
If things happen the way I am hopping Charlie and I will even be spending the night at GAYLORD TEXAN RESORT during the Holidays. ICE! featuring ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas – Presented by Pepsi and Lexus
In mid-October, 40 remarkably talented master ice artisans from Harbin, China, will travel halfway around the world to Grapevine to carve 2 MILLION POUNDS of ice into magical holiday scenes, brilliant characters, “On the Blocks” ice bar (21 & up), and five ice slides – all taking visitors on a breathtaking journey through the classic holiday poem, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Visitors will feel as though they have been transported to the North Pole as they walk through the 14,000-square- foot attraction kept at a wintry 9 degrees. To keep them warm, the resort will provide free parkas for adults and kids. (more)
Lone Star Christmas –
The ice for ICE! is created using a special recipe (yes, this ice has a recipe!), and it arrives in approximately 36 truckloads over a 3-week period… 2 trucks a day for 15 days, which is about as fast as Gaylord Texan’s local ice factory can produce it. Large blocks of ice are delivered on pallets via refrigerated tractor-trailers, then moved into place by forklift.
Three types of ice are used in the making of the ICE! attraction. Clear ice is used to look like crystal or diamond, white ice is used to look like snow, and a rainbow of colored ice (9 in total) is used for highlighting and accenting many of the
sculptures.
As guests experience the magic of ICE!, presented by Pepsi and Lexus, they will see Ma in her kerchief, Pa in his cap and more as Twas the Night Before Christmas comes to life. They will take a thrilling ride down two-story- tall ice slides, travel through the North Pole and sit in Santa’s sleigh; and conclude with the awe- inspiring Nativity in stunning, crystal clear ice.
