Bubblegum Princess by Julie Gribble

Review

Bubblegum Princess by Julie Gribble is a book I received to conduct a review on. I knew Charlie might not want to sit down and read                Bubblegum Princess as he would say this book was created for girls, not boys. Although I knew my neighbors’ daughters would enjoy Bubblegum Princess. As well as my daughter Suzzane if she had she still been here.

Once Bubblegum Princess arrived I set up a small tea party for the Girls next door and we all sat on the floor and looked through Bubblegum Princess. I read Bubblegum Princess to them. I wish you could have heard their thoughts once we finished reading Bubblegum Princess as they asked if we could read it a second time.  I let each of the Girls read Bubblegum Princess to each other.

Then I asked them to draw there favorite parts of Bubblegum Princess. We had so much fun that I will be looking for more books Julie Gribble may have published they would make perfect Christmas Gift for the girls. You can use Bubblegum Princess if you home school or just because you want a new and fun nighttime story to read to any little girls you know. Or even boys if they would let you.

You will laugh as well as “Oh and AHH” when you read Bubblegum Princess either to yourself or to your friends or family. I think every school should have a copy of Bubblegum Princess in the library. As well as each classroom.

To get Charlie interested in Bubblegum Princess I decided to host a “Bubblegum” blowing contest and every boy in the neighborhood loved it as much as the girls did. I asked Charlie if he would like the results of the contest to go inside our copy of  Bubblegum Princess we have for his room and Charlie said yes, as he could share it with all of the girls he knows.

About the Book
A modern-day fairytale inspired by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Young lady Katy delights in blowing bubblegum bubbles, a decidedly unladylike habit. Despite opposition, she teaches the kingdom to love bubblegum bubbles as much as she does.

Katy, a lively, intelligent, and strong willed heroine, embarks on an adventure filled with royals, the queen’s favorite dogs: corgis, and tons of bubblegum.
A disclaimer worthy of note: Neither HRH Queen Elizabeth II, her corgis, nor any individual associated with the British Royal Family has authorized, sponsored, or otherwise approved of this thoroughly, totally, utterly, and quite unequivocally unauthorized book.

Julie Gribble

When Julie was a child, she would reimagine classic children’s stories by scribbling new text and illustrations into her brother’s picture books. He wasn’t too happy about that, but Julie was undeterred.

She went on to become a Southampton Children’s Literature Fellow mastering the art of visual storytelling. Mentored by bestselling authors Emma Walton Hamilton and Cindy Trumbore, Julie created the award-winning picture book, Bubblegum Princess.

She is the founder of KidLit TV, a place where kids, parents, and educators can explore the world of children’s literature — www.kitlit.tv — and KidLit RADIO, a children’s literature podcast for kids.

Julie sits on the Children’s Committee of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts: BAFTA-NY and is a member of the Bank Street Writer’s Lab.

She lives in TriBeCa, NYC with her Prince Husband.
