I Had Lunch With A Friend

The Mommies Reviews

During the past week God has been bringing people back into my life I didn’t think I would ever see or speak to again. As I thought that door was closed, and they wouldn’t ever want to be friends again.

Although God had different plans for me, and the past wasn’t the right time for Debbie and I to make up. God brought Debbie’s son here to fix my deck and fence. As soon as I saw Kaitlin I contacted Debbie to make sure it was him.

I asked her about Kaitlin and Debbie opened up and we talked on the phone all of our issues went out the door. Our conversation was like we hadn’t had a falling out at all. Which I’m so happy about because this is a friend I’ve known since we were in 2nd grade.

Debbie was in mine and Davids Wedding as the bride’s maid and designer/ Wedding planner which is where we had the falling out as the things Debbie said she would do she didn’t do.

Debbie even caused mine and David’s Wedding to start late because she was late arriving to the Church for our wedding service. I know 9 years is a long time to not speak to anyone, but Debbie wasn’t ready to forgive me until now.

Although we haven’t seen each other in a while Debbie asked if I would like to go to lunch at Poncho’s which has always been our favorite. I said I wouldn’t like to if she wouldn’t mind picking me up. Once she said yes, I let her know Charlie would need to come as well and she was fine with that Which was nice because she had never met Charlie.

As I was getting ready for lunch this morning, I asked Charlie if he would like to go with us to Poncho’s to eat. At first Charlie said no, he didn’t want to go. I was getting ready to make plans for Charlie to go down to his grandmothers when he changed his mind. Charlie got dressed and looked so nice I was very impressed. While we were at lunch Charlie was so quiet and polite while we sat and visited that he totally blew both Debbie and I away

With everything going so well today Debbie and I will be going next Friday to look for Garage Sales. Een though it seems Debbie is back in my life I know how she can be a hard person to be around as she changes all the time so David has asked me to be careful, so I don’t end up getting hurt again. As of now this new friendship is in God’s hands.

I would like to thank God for bringing my friend back into our lives and to say if there is someone you haven’t spoken to in a while you should reach out to them. As we are not promised tomorrow. If you don’t take the chance now one day one of you might be gone and you will never get the chance to work out your differences.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
