Charlie’s kindness amazes me each and every day! Yesterday Charlie asked if he would be able to play outside. All the other kids in the neighborhood were outside I let Charlie go out. As all you could hear were kids talking.
I waited a little bit and went to check on Charlie because I didn’t want Charlie to think I didn’t trust him. I walked out I saw all the kids his age playing together although Charlie wasn’t playing with those children.
Charlie was in my neighbor Leslie’s yard playing with Troy because the other kids wouldn’t let Tory play with them. They said Troy was to little. You see Troy is only 5 and the other kids are 9 and 10.
I stood outside watching the kids playing I thought I would try and go walking. It has been forever since I had walked and I can feel all the weight I lost creeping up on me and I feel like I have gained twice as much weight as I did before I lost any.
I headed to the park but decided to ask Charlie if he would like to come with me. Since I had fallen last Sunday and wasn’t sure if I could walk to the park and back. I wanted to have someone with me encase they needed to get David to come and get me.
As we started to the park Charlie asked if Troy could come with us I let Charlie know it would be fine. Although they would need to check with Troy’s parents.
Charlie and Troy went to ask Troy’s dad Scott. Scott said it would be fine. Charlie picked Troy up and put him into the basket on my bike and we headed off to the park.
Once we got to the park I went to walk. I watched Charlie and was amazed at how well he was taking care of Troy and playing games Troy wanted to play.
I would like to tell Charlie how proud I was of him and how much I love him. If everyone had a friend like Charlie they would be truly blessed. Or at least that is how I fell.
I love you to the moon and back.
Forever and always.
More than Pizza and Monster Trucks.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
