Preparing To Visit Theme Parks This Summer

Summer will be here before we know it so this week I am preparing to visit theme parks this Summer. I like to be ready I try and keep a bag near the door with the standards we need at each park we visit. From water parks to amusement parks as it helps keep things more organized. Having a bag that is ready to grab always saves us time when we were trying to hurry and get out of the house. By having a bag prepared it cuts down on the items we leave at home.

Because purchasing the items we leave at home can get costly at the end of Summer we end up with so many extra items that we end up giving things away which is crazy.

So today I would like to give you some tips to help us all be better prepared for Summer fun this year while attending water parks and theme parks. As your reading through the list if I left anything out leave me a comment so I can add it to this list.

  1. To take advantage of the many exclusive discounts call the places you plan on attending and ask them about the activities you want to do most, look online as a lot of time you can find specials on there websites or places like Groupon.
  2. To avoid longer waits for your favorite attractions, plan to visit when attendance is lightest which is usually earlier in the day or later in the evening. Pick the months when most people went on Vacation. You can always call the places you plan to attend and ask them when they suggest visiting as they would be more than happy to help you decide the perfect time for your family to come out.
  3. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for chilly evenings. You can store it in a locker until you need it. Also if you have small children bring at least one change of clothes. If there are water rides and you know your child will be miserable walking around all day in wet clothes save those rides until your ready to leave that evening. Or bring a change of clothes for them.
  4. Most amusement parks and Water parks now are smoke-free facilities.  If you or someone you know smokes make plans with them of when you will head to the places they can smoke. Guests cannot smoke in the park except for the designated smoking areas. Which will allow you to meet up with the people who come to the park with you and let you all check in at designated times?
  5. Arrange a unique meeting place and time in case your party becomes separated. Have a designated phone number everyone call if you become separated.
  6. Nowadays a lot of places will rent strollers although  if you need a stroller, wheelchair or electronic convenience vehicle they are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, so plan to arrive early. As the parks might run out.
  7. Review the park map to familiarize yourself with the park’s layout before making your itinerary. Make sure everyone in your party has a copy of your map and mark which way you will be doing things so if you become separated everyone can find everyone at any time of the day.
  8. To help plan your day, pick up a map at Guest Relations and you can do this before your visit. Pick up extra maps so you always have one on hand and can always be prepared.
  9. Plan to start your day at attractions farthest from the main entrance. This way if you end up tired and aren’t able to do everything you wish to do by the end of Summer you will have done everything in the park and always know where you left off at. Also, ride your favorite rides when the park first opens, or after 5 p.m. As this is when the lines are the shortest.
  10. Save time by eating at non-traditional lunch and dinner hours—you’ll get served faster! This means after 2 for lunch. So if you don’t think your children can wait that long bring a small snack for them.
  11. Make sure children feel comfortable with a ride before they board. Because once it starts, they can not get off.
