Winter Wonderland Christmas in Historic Grapevine, Texas.

One year when Suzzane was still here before I was married to David Suzzane wanted to spend the weekend with her big sister Stevie from Big Brothers & Big Sisters. So I said that she could, and they decided to watch the Christmas Parade in Grapevine, Texas which is one memory I will never forget as I was able to go with them and it was so much fun. I would like to share with you “Christmas Capital of Texas” which takes place in Grapevine, Texas.

For years I have wanted to take Charlie to Grapevine for Christmas as Grapevine is known as the “ “Christmas Capital of Texas.” but once again with the parade being this evening I won’t be able to attend although there is still time for you to go if you like and it doesn’t begin till 5 pm.

Even though we will not make it out to Grapevine this evening, quite a few events happening throughout December which my family can attend and yours as well. So take a look at the list and let me know which ones you would like to visit.

It will be a magnificent winter wonderland this Christmas in Historic Grapevine, Texas. Which is the essence of holiday décor as the city becomes blanketed with millions of lights, enormous decorations and a whole lot more! With all of this plus great shopping for everyone on your list, Grapevine the “Christmas Capital of Texas.”

Come experience the magic of the season in historic downtown Grapevine as we officially launch the holiday season in the Christmas Capital of Texas!  The whole family will enjoy this wonderfully entertaining presentation blending traditional favorites and contemporary sights and sounds that will both warm the heart and excite the soul for the most wonderful time of the year. Help sing in the season and enjoy the spirit of Christmas as the Mayor “flips the switch” illuminating the community tree and all historic downtown.  No tickets necessary

Bring the entire family to the Parade of Lights, the largest lighted Christmas Parade in North Texas. This Grapevine tradition features more than 100 lighted floats and marching bands. Look for Santa Claus on the last float! Come early to claim your spot along Historic Main Street to watch this exciting holiday event. This event is free.

Due to technical difficulties, The Magic of Christmas Light Show will not be taking place this year. However, there is still an opportunity to enjoy Christmas fun and music. The singing snowmen, “The Chilly Dawgs,” are set up at the corner of Main Street and Dallas Road. The show runs nightly, every 30 minutes from 5:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Enjoy classics such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “Here Comes Santa Claus.”

Twinkle Light Boat Parade
Lake Grapevine
Saturday, December 3
6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

If you’re looking for a different sort of Christmas parade to float your boat, make your way to the Twinkle Light Boat Parade. One of the unique Christmas parades you will ever see! You will find watercraft decorated in all of the most exceptional sparkling lights to celebrate the season. This floating festival begins at Twin Coves Marina and picks up entries at each marina including Scott’s Landing and Silver Lake. The parade is visible from the shores of Lake Grapevine. This event is free.
