Tipsy: A Woman’s Self-Guided Method for Managing Alcohol – Dr. Alicia Lamberghini-West (Review)

I wanted to share some advice with you and to ask you a question. Did you know Alcohol consumption often drops during “Dry January?” My question is had you heard of #Dry January before today? Because my family hadn’t and David and I’ve both dealt with alcohol all of our lives.

The question is how much does one month of willpower and abstinence accomplish for our health and well-being? Which is why I chose to sit down and read Tipsy: A Woman’s Self-Guided Method for Managing Alcohol.

This is a new book from a team of experts that provide practical, sustainable and holistic approaches to help women moderate their drinking or quit alcohol entirely Which will bring women a healthier, more balanced life … without the negative effects of alcohol. The benefits may surprise you!

I don’t know about you but I’ve been drinking since I was a Teen but I never had a problem with alcohol until Suzzie was killed. Then I began drinking Jack and Coke David would bring me on his way home from work. Then we moved in together and I always seemed to have a glass of Tea filled with Tequila in it.

I remember one time my mom trying to take the glass away from me to take a drink. I wouldn’t let her and to this day I don’t know if she knew I was drinking or not but I would hope she didn’t. Then one day I decided enough was enough and I stopped drinking.

Now I only do it once in a while and that is if Charlie isn’t with me because even though David drinks Charlie will not let me. I PRAY Charlie never starts to drink but I worry about it because my dad was a ALCHOLIC and I would even guess at times David’s parents have been just as David is.

I’m grateful and blessed to have my copy of Tipsy: A Woman’s Self-Guided Method for Managing Alcohol laying on my desk to remind me not to drink because it doesn’t fix the problems we may be dealing with and instead enhance our problems and even lead t health issues known of us need.

I love how the Author sent the book in the cutest little bag that is going to be perfect for the Beach. Or out running errands and it makes carrying the bag easier. The picture on the book is so cute and I wish I had the Wine glasses on the book to use when decorating my home with. I also like the bright pink color or the word Tipsy.

I love how the Authors have included lists and steps that will help us not only with alcohol but life itself. The book was written for women but I can tell you men and even teenagers can learn things from this book if they would take the time to read the book.

Tipsy is designed for women who don’t consider themselves alcoholics but are noticing that their relationship with alcohol has become … complicated. And for good reason.

Twenty-first-century women are under tremendous pressure—whether single, working or stay-at-home mothers, overworked professionals, women going through a divorce, job loss, death of a loved one, or an empty nest—and it’s socially acceptable to have a drink to cope with the daily challenges.

Social conditioning teaches women that alcohol is a vital ingredient to socializing, celebrating, and enjoying life. Drinking culture reinforces this idea by telling women, “Having a drink is your right. You earned it. You deserve it. You need it. Everything is better with a drink.”

Having “just one drink” can quickly become a lot more drinks, followed by headaches, hangovers, and long-term effects on relationships, finances, career, health, and weight.

Then, one day, you wake up and realize that your relationship with alcohol is showing one or two red flags, including:

• Social drinking that goes beyond moderate alcohol intake
• Drinking more than the number of drinks you intended
• Always finding a reason or occasion to drink
• When alcohol is an ever-present component of your life
• When drinking is the usual or only way you can socialize with others
• When drinking is the way you cope with problems, loneliness, or boredom
• When drinking is the way you celebrate every win

Whether your goal is to moderate your drinking or quit alcohol entirely, TIPSY can help you replace unwanted habits without turning into a miserable, sober person.

So, what do you have to lose? Grab your copy and find out just how joyful life can be again when you’re not always… Tipsy
