I’ve been meaning to go up to Ollies to see if they had any Romance books or Mystery Books featuring Valentines. With the Snow yesterday I wasn’t able to go even though David was off from work. Instead I went online and found the following books I plan on ordering.
The Valentine’s Day Ball (Regency Romance) by Susan Carroll
Ten years after Maria had left Sir Jared Branden standing at the altar, he reenters her life, just when she is in the process of helping a young miss escape the clutches of a horrid betrothal. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Time Out, Valentine by Melinda Dozier
Lexi’s life is one big dump. Or so she thinks. To keep her mind off her latest breakup, she stays busy with work. It’s no big deal, since writing for Time Out Portland Magazine is a blast…except for the one small snag – Grant Reeds.
Grant, a shy but sexy computer geek, is new to Time Out, working as the Networking Director for the online magazine. Even though Lexi thinks he doesn’t notice her, he sure as hell does. The owners have a plan for their upcoming Valentine’s Special, pairing up the two to explore romantic date ideas around the city.
Soon, Lexi and Grant learn that the old adage, “Opposites Attract,” can ring true.
Valentino, Be Mine by Tina D.C. Hayes

A Valentine’s Day Surprise (Holiday Hunks, #2) by Rose Francis
When Alicia’s cousin asks her to fill in for her last minute on a babysitting job, Alicia expects nothing more than to be inconvenienced for a few hours.
It’s Valentine’s Day, and she is shamefully available to sub in, so she agrees.
What she doesn’t expect, as she shows up at the client’s door, is a handsome, sad-looking father, and a quiet, but endearing four-year-old.
And she certainly doesn’t expect to want to see them again once the gig is done.
Alicia puts the jarring night out of her mind as best as she can, but her services are unexpectedly called for once more, and she starts suspecting the client wants her for far more than watching his kid!
Mark only wants what’s best for his daughter, and once he realizes she has unexpectedly taken to the new babysitter, he vows to do everything in his power to explore romantic possibilities with the enchanting woman to try to keep his child happy.
Alicia agrees to babysit again, giving him hope, but as the night unfolds, secrets come to light, devastating their budding relationship.
They both find themselves torn between their hearts and familial duty, between past loyalties and new dreams and possibilities.
Suspicion, doubt, and distrust threaten to destroy them, but can the two of them fight through to what’s best for them all?
Arrows by Melissa Gorzelanczyk
A modern cupid story set in present-day Wisconsin combining the fantastical elements of Greek mythology with the contemporary drama of MTV’s Teen Mom.
People don’t understand love. If they did, they’d get why dance prodigy Karma Clark just can’t say goodbye to her boyfriend, Danny. No matter what he says or does or how he hurts her, she can’t stay angry with him . . . and can’t stop loving him. But there’s a reason why Karma is helpless to break things off: she’s been shot with a love arrow.
Aaryn, son of Cupid, was supposed to shoot both Karma and Danny but found out too late that the other arrow in his pack was useless. And with that, Karma’s life changed forever. One pregnancy confirmed. One ballet scholarship lost. And dream after dream tossed to the wind.
A clueless Karma doesn’t know that her toxic relationship is Aaryn’s fault . . . but he’s going to get a chance to make things right. He’s here to convince Danny to man up and be there for Karma. But what if this god from Mount Olympus finds himself falling in love with a beautiful dancer from Wisconsin who can never love him in return?
This fast-paced debut novel explores the internal & external conflicts of a girl who finds herself inexplicably drawn to a boy who seemingly doesn’t reciprocate her feelings, touching on the issues of love, sex and responsibility, with a heroine struggling to control her destiny–perfect for fans of Katie McGarry’s novels and MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.

Misses, Hearts, & Us (Falling for the Liar Series #2) by Willa Drew
My life isn’t a screenplay, but if it were, my story pitch might read something like this:
Aspiring screenwriter/bartender decides to take a risk when her plane gets stranded in the Windy City, the hometown of her holiday crush.
…on Valentine’s Day.
Cupid’s idea of a cruel joke? Or maybe fate hid Shawn Rosstav’s driver’s license in my pocket for a reason.
If I wrote our reunion scene, showing up on his doorstep unannounced would be the perfect grand gesture. We’d pick up right where we left off: in each other’s arms.
I wish just this once I could be like the bold heroines I write.
What if true love isn’t just for the silver screen?
Will my mystery man want to see me again… or does he kiss and forget?
Valentine’s Rebellion by Dani Elias
Lizzie
I loathe Valentine’s Day, no, I downright despise it. This year, it feels like it’s on steroids. But I refuse to let it get the better of me. There’s only one escape. I manage to persuade my best friend, Coop, to ditch England and embark on a trip to a secluded Canadian village. The place looked charming in the brochure, and surely, a small haven in the middle of nowhere won’t succumb to Lizzie

I manage to persuade my best friend, Coop, to ditch England and embark on a trip to a secluded Canadian village. The place looked charming in the brochure, and surely, a small haven in the middle of nowhere won’t succumb to Valentine’s madness, right? Here’s hoping the weather gods are on our side.
Cooper
Do I hate Valentine’s Day? Nah, not really. Do I jump on the Valentine’s boycott train with my bestie? Hell, yes! I’d do anything for her. Lizzie and I have been friends for donkey’s years. Just friends. Honestly, I wish she’d see me as more, but she’s made it clear—I’m stuck in the friend zone. Is it messing with my head? You bet. Am I steering clear of her? No way. I need her in my life, taking whatever she’s willing to give. So, here I am, stuck in my own Valentine’s purgatory, heading on a trip with the woman I love, even though she doesn’t feel the same way.
Valentine’s Rebellion was released in January 2024 as part of the Fourteen Shades of Red limited edition Valentine’s Day romance collection. It was re-released as prequel to The Unnatural Habitat of a Cat Lady in March 2024.
Snowed In on Valentine’s Day (Love & Holidays #2) by Alana Highbury
It was hate at first sight.
After a run-in with the rude best man, Peter, at her best friend’s wedding and a subsequent meltdown on New Year’s Eve, Hazel is ready to make major changes. Realizing she’s a serial dater, she vows to take a break from dating and focus on reinventing herself in her career—and putting down roots for once in her life.
But when the jerk from the wedding moves in next door, Hazel can’t believe her bad luck. She does her best to avoid Peter, until a massive blizzard forces her to take shelter at his house. The icy tension between them starts to thaw as they get to know each other, but when they’re still snowed in four days later—on Valentine’s Day—tempers flare as passions rise.
Confused and unsettled, Hazel has no idea what to do with her conflicting feelings, and avoiding him doesn’t seem to be an option. Can she find love with this enigmatic man amid the winter storm brewing within and between them?
This is a sweet romance without explicit scenes, but it does contain some swearing and serious themes.
