Did you know October 23rd is National Croc Day #CrocDay? I used to think the Jelly Shoes they made and they were so ugly then came Crocs. Although, at times both Charlie and I’ve had Crocs and I must say they are comfortable at times.
The Crocs didn’t look as bad as I thought they might. Not only that there is things you can use to dress up your Crocs to make them unique and one of a kind. Lets all get ready and head to our local Croc Store to pick out some Crocs as soon as possible
National Croc Day sneaks up on us every October 23rd. Did you know Crocs are making a big comeback, everywhere from college campuses to fashion runways? Even celebrity feet to the comedy stage. Why wouldn’t they? Crocs are versatile, vibrant, and most of all, comfortable.
Some folks love Crocs and some folks don’t but no matter how you feel, National Crocs Day is an annual event on October 23rd. Believe it or not, Crocs were originally designed as a boating shoe. The “Beach” design launched in 2002 at a perfect event, the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. The Crocs were such a hit that 200 sold that day and, over the course of time, 300 million pairs of Crocs have been sold. Bottom line, at any given time somebody somewhere is showing off their Crocs!
The Crocs company started out under different management with the main idea of producing a foam clog. In 2004, Crocs bought out the Foam Creations Company in order to secure the rights to make a foam-based resin called Croslite. Apparently, lots of podiatrists touted foam as helping feet because of the way the foam nestled itself according to the wearer’s exact foot proportions.
Since that time, Crocs have taken on a life all their own. If your traveling anytime soon Crocs are an international phenomenon selling in over 90 Countries world-wide. If you wear Crocs, you probably have them in several colors because Crocs actually come in almost every color in the rainbow and the styles are easy-peasy.
National Croc Day isn’t just about the shoe it’s also about keeping life simple but enjoyable. Think about that the next time you’re strolling around in your Rainbow Crocs! Just remember Crocs can be expensive at times.
Especially if your shopping at the Croc Store. Which I’ve done in the past and even though we all three purchased shoes from there none of us got Crocs we got Swim Shoes. Isn’t that funny? Before you ask what about Charlie no, he left without shoes that day because he didn’t like the price.
National Croc Day Activities
- Wear your Crocs proudly and don’t just put Crocs on where no one can see you. Wear your Crocs to class, work, the big game, and even on a date. Show everyone how quirky, cool and comfortable you are being you while rocking your Crocs.
- Is there a big game coming up? Purchase two pairs of Crocs in your school colors and wear one on each foot.
- Are you Disney fan? Stick those Princess Jibbitz on your Crocs.
- Is the Weather getting cold? Get fur-lined Clogs, of course. One of the greatest things about Crocs is how affordable and customizable they are.
- Take the opportunity today to invite your friends over for some snacks and fun. Ask them to wear Crocs paired with an unexpected outfit. Watch your friends stream in wearing Crocs and prom dresses, business suits, football uniforms, judicial robes, you name it. Use extra pairs of Crocs as decorations. Go Instagram crazy. Use the hashtag #nationalcrocday and start racking up those “likes.”
Ways Crocs Are Cool
- Did you know Balenciaga released an $850 Croc-inspired platform that completely sold out. Thank the Lord we only have to pay a small fraction of that for our Crocs.
- ”Crocs! The Musical” recently debuted at the New York Theater Festival and just like that, they’re officially a cultural icon. If you were in New York would you want to see this Show? I don’t think I would want to.
- Kayne West designed the “Yeezy Slide” for his fashion brand and you can’t fool us, that’s basically a Croc. The question is would you rather have a pair of Crocs or Kayne Wests Yeezy Slide and why?
- Can you imagine being comfortable wearing heels at work, on a date, or at a more formal event…ahhhhhhhh. You can be with the high-heeled Croc.
- A 2018 Florida high school senior asked Crocs to supply a pair of its white foam shoes for her and all of her female classmates in exchange for 2,018 retweets. It worked! I should try that with my blog. Would you like to help me?
Why People Love National Croc Day
- This “foam clog shoe” makes it feel like you’re walking on clouds or as some wearers say, marshmallowy pillows. Just slip a pair of Crocs on and go, with socks or without. No laces, no tying, no problem.
- Crocs are versatile and they are great for gardening and just hanging around. But slip on a pair of heeled Croc styles and you’re ready to hit the clubs.
- If you want to show off your personality there’s a whole rainbow of colors and jibbitz (charms that attach to your shoes) to customize your kicks.
