I wanted to share a new book with you called Breaking Through The Silicon Ceiling by Christine King (Author), Gerald Kimber White (Author) I received a copy of in exchange for this review.

Chris King is one of a kind beginning with being a poor, uneducated 20-year-old single mom to being the world’s first female CEO of a semiconductor company In the book we find out her singular focus on the customer and business outcomes was a lesson to all of us growing up at IBM.

I loved how the Author has brought her to life and I learned so much from the Author and how she was a badass. You may think the story is just of an amazing woman’s life and career, but there are important lessons here which each and everyone of us can learn from if we take the time to read this book.

Chris King’s life and career is a remarkable story of triumph over adversity, proving that nothing is impossible if you are willing to look beyond whatever obstacles come your way. The book is perfect not only for adults but families who want to educate there children of silicone and the uses for silicone.

Meet the Author: Christine King

Christine “Chris” King is the world’s first female CEO of a semiconductor company, AMI Semiconductor. She spent 25+ years at IBM, eventually becoming the VP of Semiconductor Solutions. Her other roles include President and CEO of Standard Microsystems, Executive Chairman of QLogic Corporation, and is currently Co-Chairman of Henry Schein One Board of Directors, and Board of Directors Member of Skyworks.

Outside of the world of technology, Chris has tackled the worlds of dairy farming and the equestrian sport of cow cutting with equal vigor. Never one to go into something half-heartedly, Chris has achieved championship status in both dairy cow showmanship and cow cutting competitions. She resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.

His 2020 book, A Leader’s Guide to Building Great Companies, was a collaboration with Ray Stata, the co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Analog Devices, a Fortune 500 semiconductor manufacturer.
