Welcome Back, Kotter: The Complete Series (DVD), Warner Bros., Comedy

David has been working a lot of doubles and there hasn’t been anything on TV. Charlie hasn’t been wanting to hang out with me. This weekend I went ahead and made my favorite snacks and a glass of Ice Tea. I went into David’s room put in Welcome Back, Kotter: The Complete Series in David’s game system. I grabbed my blanket and hunkered down onto David bed.

The music for the movie started and Charlie came to see what I was watching and ended up sitting down with me. Before I knew what was happening Charlie and I were discussing the Sweethogs. I explained to Charlie who each one was and Charlie was surprised to see Joh Travolta in the movie.

Charlie liked Freddy Boom-Boom Washington because of the Basketball. Charlie also thought Horseshack was funny and loved his laugh. Like all girls I liked Vinnie Barbarino but I think I like Epstein more. Did you watch the Sweethogs if so which character did you like the best and why? How about Gabe and Julie?

What surprised me was there is 95 episodes and Charlie watched the entire series with me and even when his friend Bradley showed up and wanted to go play Basketball Charlie told him he would have to wait because he needed to watch Welcome Back Kotter with us. Bradley ended up enjoying the show and even watched the ones he missed before they went to there friends.

David called while we was watching the DVD’s and he was upset because he missed out on the show. On Wednesday Charlie and I plan on re-watching the shows with David because Welcome Back Kotter is one show you can watch over and over and its just as funny as the first time you watched it.

Charlie thought it was neat to see the clothes people wore back then that looks like a lot of what we wear now. Charlie thought the principal was funny and he said he would have liked to be a Sweethog and so would I. How about you? Charlie and Bradley were amazed to find out the movie came out in 1975 and his sister Suzzane had watched the show because she was born in 1988.

The boyse where exited to learn Welcome Back Kotter had won four Emmy Awards® including Outstanding Comedy Series in 1976. Charlie didn’t recognize any of the other actors so this week he plans on researching them to see if they were in other shows we can watch as a family. Would you like to join Charlie in his research?
