In our Homeschool Class this week Charlie will be studying Reba McIntire. I would like to share a book I purchased on Reba’s life called Reba My Story which Charlie will be reading for his Reading Class along with the magazine Reba McEntire – Country Music Legend I believe I found the magazine at Walmart but the magazine can also be purchased online.
Reba Nell McEntire (born March 28, 1955),[1][2] or simply Reba (/ˈriːbə/ REE-bə), is an American country music singer and actress. Dubbed “the Queen of Country“,[3] she has sold more than 75 million records worldwide.[4] Since the 1970s, McEntire has placed over 100 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 25 of which reached the number one spot.[5]
An actress in films and television,[6] McEntire starred in the television series Reba, which aired for six seasons. She also owns several businesses, including a restaurant and a clothing line.[7]
One of four children, McEntire was born and raised in Oklahoma. With her mother’s help, she and her siblings formed the Singing McEntires, which played at local events and recorded for a small label. McEntire later enrolled at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and studied to become a public school teacher. She also continued to occasionally perform and was heard singing at a rodeo event by country performer Red Steagall. Drawn to her singing voice, Steagall helped McEntire secure a country music recording contract with PolyGram/Mercury Records in 1975. She relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, with her mother that year.

Reading Class:
Charlie will be reading Reba McEntire – Country Music Legend and Reba My Story for 30 minutes a day Monday through Thursday and writing 2 facts each day about what he learned.
On Friday Charlie will turn the facts into a report which he will read out load to his parents.
Don’t forget to take a picture of your student reading his report.
Monday:
Write your Spelling Words 5 times each in ABC order inside your Spelling Journal.
Tuesday:
Use your Spelling words inside sentences you write in your Spelling Journal.
Wednesday:
Or use your Spelling words in a story in your Spelling Journal and include a illustration you draw and description of your story you will read out loud.
Thursday:
Take a Pre-Spelling Test and if you miss any words write them 5 times each.
Friday:
If you missed any words on your Pre-Spelling Test write the words 10 times each and re-take the test. If you made a 100 on your Spelling Test take today off and go do something fun.
Math Class:
Look up how many awards Reba has won or how many shows she has been in and use the facts to create 5 math problems for someone in your Home to work out. Then let them create 5 math problems for you to work out.
Write the math problems inside your Math Jorunal.
Drama:
Watch TV Shows with Reba or concerts and interviews Reba has been in and learn how she performs and act out what she does for your parents.
For a Field Trip visit a Thrift Store or Resale Shop and pick out outfits like Reba has worn for her performances. Guys can purchase a outfit like one of her band members would have worn.
Write a description of your picture in your Drama Journal and include a picture of you in your outfit.
Music
Charlie will research and learn one of Reba’s song to perform for his parents.
Charlie will write the lyrics to the song inside his Music Journal and include a picture of him singing the song he chooses to his parents.
Art:
Charlie will gather all the facts and paperwork we’ve found and turn it into a College for his Art Show at the end of the year.
Charlie will include a picture of his Art work in his journal and include a description of his art work.
Cooking:
Charlie is going to look up what foods Reba likes to eat and prepare them in his Homeschool Cooking Class. If Charlie can’t figure out what Reba’s likes to eat he will look up the State she comes from and prepare a dish the State is famous for.
Charlie will take a picture of his creation to put inside his Cooking Journal which will be turned into a cookbook at the end of the year.
It’s time to saddle up and hit the road and take our students on a Field Trip/ Road Trip to visit Reba’s Place in ATOKA, OK.
