March 9 National Meatball Day #NationalMeatballDay

The Mommies Reviews

I was taking dinner out this evening and had planned on making SOS and for those that don’t know what SOS is its from the Military and its Hamburger Meat and Gravy which can be served with Toast or Mashed Potatoes. Charlie saw me take the Hamburger Meat our and asked for Homemade Hamburgers which Charlie can make in his Homeschool Cooking Class.

Although if Charlie had knew today was March 9 National Meatball Day #NationalMeatballDay Charlie might have asked for Spaghetti which would also be good. It’s also National Crabmeat Day #NationalCrabmeatDay which neither Charlie or I eat and honestly enough though David likes seafood I’m not sure if he likes Crabmeat. Do you?

Meatballs are probably a gift from the heavens. Did you know there are early recipes for Meatballs are found in ancient Chinese, Arabic and Roman texts. Every culture seems to have their own version of a Meatball! Beef, Pork, and Veal are most popular, but Meatballs can be made with Chicken, Fish or even Vegan.

NATIONAL MEATBALL DAY ACTIVITIES

  1. Restaurants across the Country are celebrating with specials on Meatballs grab your family and friends together and go try Meatballs out!
  2. Host a party and ask everyone to bring there own Meatballs and vote on the Meatballs and crown a winner.

WHY PEOPLE LOVE NATIONAL MEATBALL DAY

  1. Every area of the world has its own traditions and history surrounding Meatballs and whatever the name Meatballs contain Meat, Spices and a lot of love to create Meatballs.
  2. Meatballs play well with so many other types of food. Why limit yourself today to Spaghetti and Meatballs with Tomato Sauce? If we hadn’t been having Hamburgers for dinner I would have made Sweet & Sour Meatballs or Bar B Que Meatballs.
