Tonight David and I were running errands and David turned the Radio on and jelly Roll came on and David and I were jamming and just enjoying time together. Then a new song came on that made me just smile as I thought of my grandmother Dorie my mom’s mom only she was my Grandmother and she smoked L&M’s but in her house there was multiple Bibles throughout the house. She would always make sure we didn’t go hungry and would hug anyone.
The more I listened to the song the more it took me back to not only my Grandmother Dorie but my dad’s mom Irene who was also my grandmother not a meme which is what my mom was. Or Crazy Mimi as Suzzie named her. As the song went on I could see myself on my grannies farm shelling peas and running in and out of the house and the screen door slamming.
I couldn’t wait for us to get home because David was running errands when the song was playing but I wanted to share it with David. As well as my best friend Debbie to remind her of our childhood and spending time at my Grandmother Dories. I hope you take the time to listen to the song.
