We all know not to make plans because God can and will change them at the drop of a hat. Which is what happened with the children’s book The Human Body I had received for a review earlier in the year. I had asked David to put The Human Body up on the shelf for Charlie for Christmas unless we studied the human body earlier and Charlie would get it then.

Somehow the book slipped off the shelf and couldn’t be seen until David moved the shelf this morning to clean under behind the shelf and found the book. I sat down to browse through the book and found so many things I couldn’t wait to share with Charlie. Before I could David picked up the book and being to browse through the book and took it upstairs to share with Charlie.

I didn’t hear from them for a while as they looked through the book discussing information they read. Once they finished Charlie let me know he would like to add to his assigned reading list in his Homeschool Health Class. Which I did along with our studies on Alien which Charlie is fascinated with.

I like how The Human Body brought our family closer together. Charlie even got out his art supplies to draw things the Alien did with his dad. Charlie let me know his favorite part of the book was the skeletal system which we was able to study on the Skeletons I use to decorate for Halloween with.

Throughout The Human Body you will find twists and turns which will keep you on the edge of your seat. Charlie laughed and at times was even grossed out a little bit as we enhanced the book with things we found online. This is the perfect book for Science or Health Classes for children in Upper elementary but older children and adults as well may enjoy the information and illustrations just as my family did.

Charlie wanted to let you know there two aliens. The first one has 3 eyes, and 4 arms, and the stereotypical teardrop shaped head, The second alien has just one eye and octopus-style tentacles. The aliens joins the reader as we learn more about the human body. Charlie said the book reminds him of Anime or a Graphic Novel ie Comic Book which David and I agreed with.
